Since this is turning into a feedback thread, I'll give a couple (I've only hit level 81 in the story)

    - I already feel like the escort missions are overdone. It's cool that you have a few of them, but not every time we turn around
    - I hate, with every fiber of my being, the scene in Garlemald where you have to get the key and the fuel. If I wanted to play Assassin's Creed, I would. It's just too weird in FFXIV with the camera angles and such.

Otherwise I'm savoring every moment. The music is EPIC.

I was tempted to uninstall there xD It took me 5 or 6 tries because I kept getting lost. But I had to power through it because I hoped it was only going to be a one off

The problem with the escort missions is they are forced on people who would prefer not to RP. Just let me take an Aetheryte for god sake. If I want the RP throw a note on the wall I can click and read later. That quest did increase my rage level but I figured it out. Nice of them to try new stuff.

    Pretty much this.

Cutscenes are long and drawn out, escort missions are there just to pad playtime (it's obvious).

Writing has been decent. It's basically been a wrap up of the last 8 years, going down memory lane.

They should have let them work with aetherytes and mounts. You can't even get on your chocobo or else you'll outrun them so much they get lost, it's really annoying.

I'm just a bit past the 85 dungeon now in the story. While I like the overarching story decently well(nowhere near as good as the previous xpac so far imo, but there is still time), the pacing is absolutely terrible. The first 2 levels were mostly talking to people, running errands for people, doing fetch quests, etc. Occasionally you fought one of the wildlife here or there, but probably less than 10 fights all together for the first two levels. After the first dungeon the story picked up, but it keeps slamming into walls where we have to stop, escort people around for no reason, talk to random citizens, etc.

They keep just one upping themselves in the MSQ. Everytime something epic happens it is followed by something even more EPIC.
    Is it? I don't know...

The story line is absolutely great, exiting and drive on. But some quests are disappointing in the game play, for example the in from cold scenario. Hope there are not more quests upcoming like this. And then of course the login queue, where i sadly do not see any improvements in the next upcoming weeks.

// Spoiler Warning - up to around end of lv87 dungeon. But trying to be vague //

Not done yet, but overall I found the story quite good. It did have its slow moments, though I didn't really mind it since I enjoy spending time and interacting with the scions.
I think it did quite well with balancing heavy, dark moments (most of garlemald, 2nd part of thavnair) against lighthearted and beautiful moments (bunnies, the place with blue bird).

The heavier parts felt almost suffocating at times, especially garlemald - darker the further the story progressed there. There was one point in the thavnair dungeon (I imagine anyone can figure out which moment) where I just stood still and forgot to fight, cause I felt so sad and didn't want to kill the 'mobs'. (.. sorry to the tank I almost let die ^^')

On the other hand, the lighthearted and comedic moments were a nice counter-balance - even if some of them felt a bit 'too much' in the other direction. Like something made a bit too cute and innocent and sweet, that it almost seemed unreal in contrast to the gritty heavy stuff. The parts in the lands of the blue bird however I found really interesting and engaging, even looking forward to doing some side quests there after I finish the story. The scenery was amazing and I really liked the char interactions there, even though I imagine to many it may feel like a bit of a slog with too much dialogue and not much else.

Though the reveal of what or who the 'antagonist' truly is left me feeling a bit .. empty? Like the cat was out of the bag, but turns out rather than a unspeakable mysterious horror that I sort of expected from the tone of whats happening .. it just ends up being what it is. I think I'd really have prefered if it had been something from out there, even if its a overdone space trope - or an actual natural phenomenon, which would make it much harder to deal with and understand. It just feels too small and too simple to be the big bad of this huge story, even if it is the result of asking the big question and getting a questionable answer. Though I hope the rest of the story will manage to build it up a bit more for a satisfying finale.
