Half way through the game -- I am not impressed in all honestly. Theres too much start-stop pacing in the story to help me get into the groove of the thing they are crafting.

yeah I agree with this. Frankly the first 40% of the game felt really bad, especially in term of pacing. Too many filler quests and useless fluff (note, I like fluff, just not the useless kind). Frankly I think 50% of the MSQ in the first half of this expack should be relegate to sidequest and wont affect the story at all.

The good news however, is the later half of the game is extremely good though. Feel like it switched from a dragged-out generic MMO story into full Trail of Steel mode. So you have something to look forward to.

The story is getting better and better the further I get into the game. I'm at story quest level 86 and almost level 89 simply doing Main Story. Had fears this would be in the shadows of Shadowbringers but wow were those fears unfounded.

Unfortunately it does take a long while to start picking up but there's a pretty specific point where it does and it's great. Had me hooked after that barring a few bumps.

Feel completely the opposite, It's like people don't understand what build up and pacing is.

Well I am basically been waking up at 6am and playing until 10pm for the passed 3 days and I am level 89. You have scratched the surface. The zone design alone in Endwalker DUMPS on Shadowbringers. Dungeon design is far more complex with boss mechanics and scenery is just ridiculous.

The story in Shadowbringers carried it that is why people over looked the very boring zone design.

I do not understand how they even did this. I keep trying to figure out where they cut corners and I cannot find it.

what did you do with the real Puremallace?

See a few below this one. I find the 2002 errors and character verification server issues completely unacceptable. The game is incredibly stable once in but that is the trick.

I can't wait for more people to get to the end of the MSQ. I can guarantee you the forums will look VERY different in a couple of weeks. Very, very different.

FF14 has now surpassed FF6 as my all-time favourite. No question.
