Technically, they paid for game time to be able to actually play the game, which has been compromised. As a result, the frustration, which is a perfectly valid response.
The consolation is that Squeen is providing game time as compensation for the inability of players to play, which is nice of them, but it also shows that these weird white-knighty defense posts aren't necessary because not even Squeen is convinced that this state of affairs is ok.
Just let these people complain and get it out of their system. It's valid, and Squeen should be allowed to see the unrest.
If not frothing at the mouth because of an MMO launch makes me a white-knighty then by sword and shield I will glisten like holy radiance. I'm stuck in the same queue as everyone else. They're allowed to complain on a public forum and I'm allowed to respond.Technically, they paid for game time to be able to actually play the game, which has been compromised. USE a software that DOES NOT work.... use a software that does not work.... if a software doesnt work can i use it?The case for most MMOs is that you do not pay for the software, you pay for the right to use the software, whether it works or doesn't work. This is to prevent people like you from crawling down the developer's throats when unprecedented things (e.g. Endwalker Launch having unknowable amount of players) happen that prevent them from playing the game. This is also what allows them to lock out people who break the rules, without worrying about retribution in the form of a lawsuit.
Unless you're a newborn baby, you should know how MMOs work. They're live services, subject to the issues that come with something being live.
hmmm i think someone needs to listen to his own words, cause goddarn was that a dumb sentence....

I just found an old toon on the Japan servers, lol. Haven't played this one in over 5 years. I guess I'll play that for now cause I had no issues getting in to thier server
It’s not self entitlement when you pay for a month of service and don’t get it. I suppose if you pay your electricity bill, then don’t get power, you’d be fine right?Just bored at the moment waiting on someone to be ready to leave. If the image in your head is 'white knight' or 'bootlicker,' sorry that I have a view of reality that isn't twisted by self entitlement?
It's an expansion launch. Every MMO has them. Every MMO has server issues during them. Complaining does nothing but further make the devs hate the players. It happened in WoW and will happen here too.
You're shining brighter than that one scene from Even Stevens when Ren had that smile-off with that other girl in the hallway.
Just as you're allowed to respond, I'm allowed to say that the argument you're making is a bit short-sighted: "you didn't pay for early access" means very little, when "early access" for this game's expansion is generally just "normal playtime" for the game itself, which is compromised whether or not you purchased the expansion. It's not as if Squeen was pulling the game down for all other players; this is also not an initial release of the whole game, where no one's ever logged in before.
It's a very complicated situation. I'm just saying, it's a good idea to remember that, even as we're both sitting in queue (if you still are).
Of course you're allowed to say what you want. I'm not going to sit around and contradict myself. I'm just saying that while they're allowed to complain I shouldn't be told to just sit back and let them complain. I'm 240 in queue so I'm about to enter, but I'm glad we could be civil. Hope you get in soonYou're shining brighter than that one scene from Even Stevens when Ren had that smile-off with that other girl in the hallway.

Been with the game since 1.0 so I have seen my share of server ups and downs.
I don't mind the queue, if it works. Problem is that the queue doesn't always. I get in a queue and will wait hours and then get Error 2002 again. So I rush to try to get back into the queue--sometimes it remembers where I was, other times I start at the top. That's where the BS is at, because that's probably a bad coding problem. That's arguably something that should have been fixed a long time ago.
Also because all worlds are congested, I can't try to find a lower population server to jump into either, so the proposed countermeasure of try to relieve congestion by logging into another server isn't actually an option, so I'm unsure why it was proposed as such.
