If you really think this is the worse release ever you have not played multiplayer games that long. Does this release have issues? Absolutely.

When you are actually in game though the experience is really really good which is alot more that can be said than many other games

this is not a valid excuse. what they released is a Blizzard style excuse. they knew this was coming and they did absolutely nothing to remedy this. and there solution is to make sure you're hardwired? that's a joke of a solution. And to say they is a shortage of sami-conductors, also just a lazy excuse. they are Square Enix one of the biggest gaming orgs. on the planet. What they released is a sad excuse for a failed launch. getting kicked out of of 3k plus ques is 100% on them. and 7 days play time that's already being payed for is pathetic.

Reading through some of these I see a either a lot of people new to MMOs or a lot of entitlement that don't understand that you can't just go out and buy more servers like you can storage space for us consumers. Especially when you competing with other services and bigger corporations that need servers just as much as this game does.

Those saying "they had a WHOLE YEAR TO PREPARE", I have to ask do they honestly believe a year is enough to prepare for about 25mil people trying to log in at the same time, all the while dealing with chip shortages and competing with MS, Sony, Amazon, Google, Apple, Samsung, every car manufacturer known on earth, every computer parts manufacturer, streaming services that need just as much servers as ffxiv does?

You truly think a year is enough to deal with all that, in a year where covid was at its heavy and hardest hitting point?

Stop acting like children, and if you are a kid, time to grow up and understand that sometimes shit happens and we have to learn to deal with it and not just have a meltdown when things don't go the way you hope they do.

Don't get me wrong, you're free to complain all you want, any way you want, but you aren't free from critique yourself and being call out in how childish you are being.

    I agree with this.

I think it's fine to be frustrated that you can't play your game. I am also frustrated that I have to wait in long queus and sit and babysit my computer while I wait for the queue, like everyone is having to go through it. Trust me it's very frustrating, I just want to play the game.

It's really another thing entirely to make hyperbolic statements like: "This is the worst thing ever and the devs are doing nothing about it. They should fix it instead of being silent ect ect."

Like the thing is, the Devs have not been silent, and they are clearly working on fixing it. They've released a post or updated posts every other day about the congestion issues, they're clearly working on it, they've pointed out that it's an issue, so that should really be the end of it. I don't know how much you know about server management, but it's not an issue that can just easily be fixed, behind every dev post apologizing and assuring people that there is an issue there's probably 10-100 network engineers who have spent a sleepless weekend of being on call to try and brainstorm and create some kind f solution to the sheer amount of traffic that they're having to deal with. The fact of the matter is we're trying to force an entire lake worth of liquid into a small pipeline, it's already chugging as much liquid through as it can, and forcing more through is just going to cause spillover. It'd be nice to have more pipes, but we don't we have to work with what we've got.

As frustrating as it is for you to complain that you can't play your game, it's 100 times more frustrating for the people who are trying to do their job to constantly be derided and debased by entitled people who aren't able to play while they're desperately trying to fix this issue.

Have you ever sat to think that maybe the reason they're not giving more updates to the situation that they're in is because they've got their heads down trying to work on it?

Yeah and at the end of the day a company like Sony, or Samsung, or an major Airport or airplane maker or car company is going to get place first in line for new chips over a game company.

I like FF14. But at the end of the day if Boeing or Airbus come out and say they need server parts and chips they will get them first because well you know you need to be able to fly the PLANES. If a hospital needs to upgrade there servers they will get it first. That means Square, EA, Blizz, etc have to wait at the end of the line because you know Health and safety come first. I mean really you think that Square is more important then the chips need to run any airplane or the servers need in a hospital to run computers.

If that's what you think then you need to step back and get a grip. It's a game it's not your life.

Lets get this right. MMO's are not a new form of gaming. There is clear cut examples out as reference to what should initially be prepared for. For instance, Pre-orders for example is a decent reference as to the volume of player base to increase. Another would be the increased marketing for the games release and volume of "trending" that comes with a new release.

Defending all of the non preventative natures that has occurred again from a triple A title is astounding to say the least.

How about simplification. How many total servers does SE have? What is the total volume allocated to each server? What is the total que limit per server? All of these questions have simple answers. All of the challenges faced with each potential issue per question have variable outcomes and or, preventative measures. Responding to a clearly upset community with "we are aware of the issues" "here is 7 days free time" only adds fuel to the fire. People as a general that have pre-orderd would expect, from a triple a title, somewhat of a more stable release. What is the point of pre-ordering in the first place? To have EARLY ACCESS. What don't those player base have? EARLY ACCESS. Why? because of overlooking solutions.

I'm not here to demand a refund. I am also not happy about the release. However, I also am not, nor do I have to, accept the release of the game as a sound one. To date SE is still advertising the game to be a great experience and to play the game at launch. To me that would be false advertising as the game isn't in a good state nor is it playable by most. What people most likely would be more happy with when it comes to a failed early access launch would probably be some exclusivity for being a early access player. What is the point of pre-ordering? to have an advantage over players on launch. Which to most they wont have anyway because of the failed early access.

This release has been added to the several other games in the past 3 months that have had failed early access and launches. I would bet money on full release the game is going to flop hard on the reviews by players. It also wont be a stable release. There is no foreseeable update to fix any of the problems in front of us.

Don't be a "bootlicker". Also, don't be that guy who when something is out of control act like everything is working as intended.

I just unsubbed. I can not play since the only times I could log on I'm at work or sleeping.

I am not really mad, it was to be expected. I wish they had found a way to guarantee a smoother release - they did not.

I:ll just resub once the storm is over and queues are at an acceptable level for me again.

I just do not want to pay for a service I can personally not use at the moment

The game ain't going away, and will be there in a month or two for me to play still.
