Saying the game is bad is just idiotic it's the log in issues that are bad the game itself is awesome I haven't had any issues playing while actually in game and have really enjoyed my time I've spent online. People just need to chill out already this issues will get fixed when they are fixed coming on here and bickering about it isn't going to make them work any faster then they already are at a fix for the issues. and lets face it if they do put a fix in it will be during the next Maintenance that or it will be an emergency Maintenance during peek hours that will just piss more people off so it's just a lose lose kinda thing.....

To be fair, it was SOE after all. The same devs that asked for feedback but said, if it's too long, we won't read it.

For instance, Pre-orders for example is a decent reference as to the volume of player base to increase. Another would be the increased marketing for the games release and volume of "trending" that comes with a new release.

Defending all of the non preventative natures that has occurred again from a triple A title is astounding to say the least.

How about simplification. How many total servers does SE have? What is the total volume allocated to each server? What is the total que limit per server? All of these questions have simple answers. All of the challenges faced with each potential issue per question have variable outcomes and or, preventative measures. Responding to a clearly upset community with "we are aware of the issues" "here is 7 days free time" only adds fuel to the fire. People as a general that have pre-orderd would expect, from a triple a title, somewhat of a more stable release. What is the point of pre-ordering in the first place? To have EARLY ACCESS. What don't those player base have? EARLY ACCESS. Why? because of overlooking solutions.

I'm not here to demand a refund. I am also not happy about the release. However, I also am not, nor do I have to, accept the release of the game as a sound one. To date SE is still advertising the game to be a great experience and to play the game at launch. To me that would be false advertising as the game isn't in a good state nor is it playable by most. What people most likely would be more happy with when it comes to a failed early access launch would probably be some exclusivity for being a early access player. What is the point of pre-ordering? to have an advantage over players on launch. Which to most they wont have anyway because of the failed early access.

This release has been added to the several other games in the past 3 months that have had failed early access and launches. I would bet money on full release the game is going to flop hard on the reviews by players. It also wont be a stable release. There is no foreseeable update to fix any of the problems in front of us.

Don't be a "bootlicker". Also, don't be that guy who when something is out of control act like everything is working as intended.
Where did I say everything was fine? Where did I say I was ok with not being able to log in? Hell I'm at my 4th attempt to log in, started with a 3k que, 2002ed and every subsequent time i got booted the que goes up by 1k. I'm not happy, I'm frustrated and upset too. Difference is I understand why this is happening and I know the devs aren't sitting back rolling around naked in our preorder EA money right now. They are just as pissed as I am trying to make it work because they actually play their own game and right now they can't either because we can't.

How much do you know about FFXIV devs? You are aware that while SE is the publisher, the actual devs haven't had a large budget until recently (meaning they didn't have a big budget to work with for this expansion but will for the subsequent ones). Creative Business Unit 3 is the dev for FFXIV and they have had a shoe string budget and until recently weren't a tentpole for SE as far as budgeting and prestige since it was only their second MMO. Meaning they couldn't just allocate more resources to buy up more servers and bodies to work on their current ones (not that a bigger budget would help there since servers are scarce due to shortages and competition from other entities for those same parts).

All I said was for those who are being hyperbolic and seem to be under the impression that they can just throw money at a problem that it would fix it all (not that SE has the money to throw around to begin with. They aren't as big a publisher as some make them out to be).

In their preparation for this game while working on EW, they absolutely had no idea that there would be an influx and injection of the WoW refugees that added probably an additional 5mil players to the count that they clearly weren't prepared for. You can blame them and claim incomitance, but they had 1.2mil additional people sign up to their game between September and October. Tell me what could they possibly do in the last six months before the launch when the influx started to prepare for the new players they had no way of knowing would flood the gates? Sure there is always account for possibility of more players joining, but that's usually for a few hundred thousand to mil at most, but I don't think 5mil+ new players were a part of their calculations. This is an unprecedented situation with the perfect storm of WoW troubles and bleeding players, big name WoW streamers joining FFXIV and their communities following in the millions, and then add in the returning players too. I doubt any MMO could prepare for a situation like that.

My whole point of the post was geared towards the hyperbolic doomsayers and those who seem to think there was some malicious intent to just take their money and turn their backs to the community. I understand some of those new players might be coming here from a previously toxic relationship with past devs and are a bit jaded, but that isn't the case here.

Does that make me a bootlicker?

Two things I want to add: At the very least on my server I've had very few issues getting in and experienced next to no issues when I was in besides one disconnect on launch
and this is the funniest thread I've ever seen on a forum

Someone has obviously never been in a warcraft launch. Everytime I can get into the game it's very smooth play. I am not running into quests I can't turn in or find NPCs for. Every other game I have played at an expact launch isn't just rough queues, there are all kinds of issues in game as well. The queues suck, error 2002 sucks, but this is the best expac release I have ever seen.

I am not really mad, it was to be expected. I wish they had found a way to guarantee a smoother release - they did not.

I:ll just resub once the storm is over and queues are at an acceptable level for me again.

I just do not want to pay for a service I can personally not use at the moment

The game ain't going away, and will be there in a month or two for me to play still.
This is a perfectly reasonable and respectable response and reaction. Hopefully it smooths out quickly so you can come back sooner than later. I personally just rearranged my sleep schedule a bit. I started going to be shortly after getting home from work and waking up early to login for a few hours. It's worked out pretty well, and the side benefit is that my sleep schedule is switched around in advance of a 12 hour drive in 2 weeks that I'll be starting at 3 a.m.
