They've been trying to buy server hardware for a year. There's a global pandemic causing a semiconductor shortage.

This is a lie. I am an IT engineer/admin for a living and this isn't true. You can order server hardware fairly easily.
They could also use Amazon or Azure as hosts for temporary relief.
I'm a software engineer and you could do this if your applications were designed for the cloud. If they weren't it's not as simple as just picking up your code and moving it to Azure or AWS.
Yes, I'm sure they'd much rather upset thousands/millions of players and lose millions of dollars, while lying to us all year - oh wait, no, you're wrong. There is a massive shortage affecting most industries. I doubt they'd shoot themselves in the foot on purpose by just not buying servers - they literally stated that they even tried to buy some at WELL above market price, and still couldn't get them. It's fine to be upset about all this, but inform yourself first, or you risk making yourself look a fool. We all knew months ahead of time about congestion, but the log-in errors are the real slap in the face.
Okay boot licker
Calling someone a boot licker when they call you out on your idiocy. Just because you're in IT server maintenance (ME TOO BUDDY) shows you're either ignorant of your job and/or just a pissy cry baby. I'd take both after reading your few posts on this thread. It's understandable to be upset, but to think you know every server setup across the globe is fucking ludicrous. Grow up please you're an adult.
"Be kind. Everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."
Nope, get used to it, I'm sick of boot lickers ruining shit because they are inflating their egos to the point where they can do no wrong. I don't need to be an IT expert to tell you that your servers are horrible if free to play games can manage better. You charge a subscription to login, you are going to be held to a higher standard and if you can't meet it, then stop charging a sub. It doesn't matter if you make a masterpiece if no can experience it to begin with.
Somehow I'm not surprised that someone named "Tyler Durden" completely misunderstands/misrepresents reality.
Then they should not have sold the game knowing they could not support it.
Though I 10000% percent agree, something tells me the publishers and shareholders would make that impossible and on top of that... they may have genuinely not expected this to be this bad (I know.... how could they not expect it to be so busy and popular... but still)
