Regarding 2002 error and unstable connection update

    https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...9cad782363f25b
Just for reference, the above cause as mentioned in today's update is incorrect.
I'm getting this error on a wired Fiber to the home connection of 300/300 and a wired ethernet connection to switch and router.
This has nothing to do with wi-fi or unstable connection from our side.

This is at the data center side. And quality of home connection doesn't seem to matter.

Exactly this, I have a hard-wired connection, and I never get any hiccups with anything unless my service goes completely down. I have yet to make it through a queue. Once I get put in the queue I inevitably get kicked out.

Excuses like they gave with regards to this makes me think they really do not know what they are doing.

Yeah it's pretty clear what OP was talking about. That said, it is pretty uncool of SE to blame our internet connections, when it's rather obviously a worldwide issue...which means its on them. Tired of not even being allowed to queue. Can't even choose to guest to another world that's less congested on Crystal.

Yeah, I don't agree that it's an "unstable connection" that's causing the 2002's.

SE didn't blame it on home internet connections. They straight up said the FIRST cause of 2002 was server queue being full. They then provided a second possible cause and gave us ways to make sure that the second cause was not the reason for our problems.

They actually did. Well, they blamed getting kicked out of the queue on internet connections. They blamed themselves on not being able to enter the queue in the first place.

    "・ Error 2002

    There are two primary causes.

This is where they blame themsleves
The first occurs when attempting to log into a logical data center (such as Aether or Primal) and there are more than 17,000 players in the login queue. This leads to an Error 2002 occurring, resulting in being unable to enter the login queue.

This is where they blame us
The other occurs when your internet connection experiences packet loss or a period of network instability, causing the server connection to be momentarily disconnected. At the moment, we are seeing more cases caused by this.

Because the waiting times in login queues are long, we believe this increases the chances of encountering internet issues or momentary disconnections."

The maddeining, unacceptable one, to me, at least, is where I am in queue for 15-45 mins then get kicked, which keeps happening over and over. And they clearly blame us for that.

I think people are splitting hairs too much anyway. We as players are doing what we can to get connected, the ball is in SE's court.

You literally just reinforced what I said while trying to argue it. Once again, they FIRST SAID IT WAS THEIR FAULT and then said IT MIGHT BE CAUSED BY THIS TOO, SO DO THIS TO MAKE SURE IT ISNT YOU

And for the record, a Packet Loss can happen at ANY TIME regardless of how great your internet is. And if it does, unexpected things time out as a result.

Again, that is not what they said at all, lol. I even quoted it for you are bolded the differences. These are 2 separate issues, both returning the 2002 error. Not sure if you are reading it or skimming it or not understanding what the issues are.

issue #1: Trying to log on to a data center (ie, you cannot enter the queue at all); this they take responsibility for

issue #2: While in the queue, you get kicked out. This is on your internet connection, so they say.

I highly doubt the only packet loss I am receiving is while trying to log onto FFXIV, but yes, that is possible, and for thousands and thousands of people. Yes, it is possible that this is happening.

They take 0 responsibility for being kicked out of the queue while in it.
