As a software engineer that has migrated legacy code to the cloud months may not have been enough time, especially while they were preparing for an entire expansion at the same time. I think I vaguely remember seeing Yoshi-P comment at some point that they actually spent some time trying to use cloud servers and it didn't work. Still something worth looking into for the future, but that ship has sailed for Endwalker unfortunately
Back in 2019 when we have DC split, we just split into two DC without any new world being added.Ever since I started gaming on FF14, I have been enthusiastic with the experience before me.
Now I feel my money, my time and my love of the game are not appreciated.
I play on Chaos - Cerberus I started off with a queue of 9 900 people then at 1700 something an error occurred. Now am back queuing at 8.061.
Having a compensation in terms of free play is nice and well but what I really want is to know what actions are taken about that. Cause what's the use if you can't even log on... Almost sounds like a joke...
Are we just waiting that people get tired and move on to another game?
Are new servers planned ?
Is any action planned to deal with that ?
I mean this is pre-release only...
See you in queue I guess...
No doubt SE fail to foresee the growth in EU players population have contribute to today congestion issue.
Can only hope SE learn from this and see the need of expanding EU DC.
However, I am not optimistic any significant improvment to EU DC 2002/queue time issue as other have mention the semiconductor shortage
Yoshi P did say that.As a software engineer that has migrated legacy code to the cloud months may not have been enough time, especially while they were preparing for an entire expansion at the same time. But why bother making sense when you can instead just talk out of your ass
The major cloud providers have plenty of compute that can be scaled in incredible ways.
A great strategy to keep general costs low and having burstable scalability would be to have servers hosted at edge locations and have cloud fabric network links to the MCPs since their are limited major global fibre/fabric providers.
But yes of course. You know what you're talking about.
Yoshi call me xoxo
As right now the only "solutions" is to log in at less congested time, but that is impossible for some people as job or school gets in the way...
Which all takes time, money, and hardware on the hardware to do. What you think that can all be done over night in one shot? The major cloud providers have plenty of compute that can be scaled in incredible ways.

ahhhh the magic of the cloud lolololololol
maybe call it the moogle data center.
It will be just as disconnected from Ul'Dah than moogle's in the churnning mist.
