My question is........... is the dev team going to fix this soon? Sure, they know the hows and whys....... let's spend that sub money on improved servers or new servers... like, NOW.
And better load balancing.

If they didn't fix it during the months leading up to launch, with the millions they got in preorders, do you really think they're going to fix it now that they have your money? They're just going to wait until enough people have given up trying to play and then they'll say that the servers are working as they should again, once there's a tenth of the amount of people trying to play.
I was able to get into the queue now for gilgamesh, however, the queue is not moving at all despite being in it for about 20 minutes. Pretty sure it's still broke.
According to past statements from Yoshida-san and the dev team, the worldwide semiconductor shortage is part of the reason why getting new server hardware is close to impossible at this stage. Which is why the Oceania Datacenter isn't available for launch of 6.0.
SO yeah, getting new hardware is on the books, but it's a lot more complicated than just going down to the local Best Buy.

Yep. I've been at the same spot in the queue since I finally got in. I'll pay attention to it but not count on getting in tonight.
Same for me, stuck at 2,902. When a bunch of people got to jump the line and got in earlier, maybe it loaded the server beyond the normal capacity, now we're waiting for people to log out so it goes back to the normal number. Of course, the queue could just be broken still.
Seems like what they did was just remove all their slack they were using to keep the queue moving, and load the server to capacity. No easing people in when no one's logging out, because they're afraid of the errors. What a pain in the ass. At least I don't have to babysit character select now though...
