Thread: Instance this Instanced that! ( Pre 2.0 talk!)

It comes down to balance, it's much easier to balance content with a set number rather then balance content in which the number can fluctuate. They could make content in which 4-64 can do it but then they have to balance it for 4, 12, 24, 36, 48 and 64. I mean if you look at it like this think of it as 4 is toto, 12 is Darkhold, 24 is Ifrit, 36 is Cutter's Cry, 48 is Aurum Vale and 64 is Garuda Primal. Basically in the time it would take to produce all of the above content, they would most likely have to take that same amount of time to balance out content in which the level range is varied rather then have a set level. I mean just look at the wonderful job XI does in this aspect it's either, sure you can do it with 4-18 but it'll be really tough, 19-30 is medium but if you want to make it easier you should try bringing all 40. That's not really balance since it comes down to numbers overwhelming just like the invasion content... but even then the invasion content can be done by 3 players so the difficulty for that event wasn't even put into thought lol.

Varied level content may come later but for now you have to think of it as a time constraint, it just takes more time to balance content by amount of players then it does to have a set number. Would you really be happy if instead of all the above SE only released the Darkhold dungeon but with the ability to do it with up to 4-40 players?

I sometimes wonder how the Dev team feels reading our posts. Although many people are very happy with how the game is, not many go out of their way to say 'great job'! Some do, and that's great for them, but most posts made are complaints.

For instance... look at it through the eyes of a product being sold. If you want to buy a product, you look up reviews, right? Well, most people who love the product aren't going to post a glowing review. They'll just enjoy the product and get on with their lives... but if someone doesn't like the product? They'll go and write a terrible review. It's really the same way here. I see so many threads of complaints and not enough expressions of gratitude. I hope the Dev team understands this and knows that a lot of us are very happy with the game... and secretly, so are the other people... otherwise they wouldn't be paying to play!

So, basically... /clap for you for standing this thread. People need to stop complaining because while there are some things that do need fixing, other things are great, and you should appreciate that and the hard work that is being put into the game. Other things are simply opinion. I personally don't mind 'all of the instances' because it's enjoyable to see different events happen in the same terrain. It gives it more of a 'realistic' feel to me. But... that's just my opinion.

Everyone knows that poll question your talking about was totally loaded in the first place. I would love to see the results if they asked us again directly this time.

People have at least had a taste of how "Awesome" instancing everything under the sun is. But I for one refuse to take that poll question as a "Majority of players" because many voted for it under the pretenses of the claim system. The forums here have shown a rather decisive split in the playerbase about the issue (Unfortunatly we can't poll the non forums members ourselves). But I'd like to see the results without having the question lobbed into another question.
