Someone has too be.. to Forums are all scattered all over the place. :P /sarcasmI don't care about instances really, its the party restrictions that suck.
So what if I'm gonna die, at least let me try it solo or even duo/trio. Why force 4-8 party members for all instances? Maybe I just want to do some farming in cutters or get an AF chest?
Also to the OP, you sound like someone's mom, the truth is we're paying customers so we can complain as much as we want when things suck XD

Well to be honest, it really doesn't matter what goes on here. They've got an idea already of what they want to do as far as instancing is concerned, I wouldn't expect it to change. The only times the community has changed the devs minds is when there was an enormous unanimous backlash. There are a good number of supporters for both on either side so I don't think support on either side is big enough to change their minds.
Also it's not as black and white as everyone's making it. There will be a mix of both types of content, that is what they have been doing since Yoshida took over. Both sides should appreciate the content that is given to them for their preferred type of content. Just because the content isn't something you like doesn't mean it doesn't exist or doesn't matter. If a mix of instanced and open-world content is not good enough for you though, I would suggest you cut your losses and quit. Find a game that offers the type of content that you do like and play it. Games are meant to be enjoyed, if you're not enjoying it then the next logical step would be to stop playing. The devs are, in most cases, going to do what they want.

About that.
This game was originally released without the intent to be instance heavy and be more of a 'community interaction is the main content' deal, if the old promises and interviews would hold true. If the game could never handle strong open world content, then they screwed up harder than I ever imagined.

Go with 4 full parties (total 32 people) to an invasion event and stop the time it need to load the first enemies on your screen.About that.

THe current engine requires the instancing. Partially due to number of total characters and npcs displayable on the screen at once, and the server design, 2.0 can allow for the change.

So the 5 World NM are instanced huh?Look guys, I know alot of you have been complaining about 1.0 being just a lot full of Instances ( which is true). However you have to look at Yoshi-P's perspective on the current Version of the game. Can you really expect him to put non-instanced content, on a Server Structure that can't even handle a Non-Instanced Situation? Look at it through his eyes guys for 5 mins is all i'm asking. He's trying his hardest to work with 2 games at once with barely any sleep.
It's fine to say things like " I dislike all these Instances and I wish for 2.0 to have less of them". Constructive Criticism is always welcome and will Help Yoshi-P and team to better understand your needs as gamers. Whining and complaining about it.. isn't really Criticism at all.. its just throwing your weight around towards to community to just start flame wars.
If you want SE's attention 100% anyways, giving them "Constructive Criticism" is the best and most effective feedback SE can ask for. I do my fair share of whining and complaing, and I need to do this change as well.. but if we all want a top notch FFXIV 2.0 game then this is something we need to do as Fans of FFXIV.
Thank you for your time if you took the time to read this.
Starlord Ravine
As are all the Settlements?
Yeah game can handle it Yoshi just dont want it, same reason right now we dont have alliance content yet because they dont want it until 2.0. What they are doing is creating half assed content to tie us over until the relaunch, which i can understand because why should they release all the good stuff when 2.0 is such a major change. 2.0 needs to be epic its the only way the game will survive.

Instanced Dungeons: Yes. Think Assault, Salvage, Dynamis, etc. However, the open world "dungeons" we have (Mistbeard Cove, Copperbell Mines, Mun-tuy) should be made more interesting as well, maybe with unique mob families, treasure chests that require keys dropped from those mobs, etc.
Instanced Boss Fights: Sometimes. We have a good system going now with the primals, yet open world "HNMs" would also be welcome.
Instanced Battles/Events: No. No no. It makes it even harder for players to just pop in and enjoy. If this game is to be easily accessible, it's completely backwards to make content like this 8 person party only. We should be able to "party up" for things like this but also be able to take part solo. Campaign and Besieged were good examples of this from FFXI, and the Imperial Assault events are a good example of this that we have in this game now. Hamlet Defense is a BAD example of this.
What do medals even mean anyway?
