In fairness, if the login servers were capable this would be the perfect time for a preorder launch. Think about it this way: early access players only got the game 4 days ahead of regular players.
That's not a lot of time to do anything meaningful, so what's the point? Aside from preorder bonuses, obviously. BUT if the EA was on a weekend, and the regular launch was on a weekday, then EA becomes a lot more meaningful.

Why launch on a weekend?

Yeah, it's a bit weird. The "official" launch is the industry standard tuesday, but it's like SE forgot why that's an industry standard and then made the de facto launch friday. I mean, I can understand wanting to let people game on their weekends but this sort of thing is exactly why launch tuesdays are launch tuesdays...

Launching on a Monday or Tuesday would have saved peoples weekends. Take it down, patch, etc. I'd rather it get worked on for 3 days, rather than stay up and people can't login.

It is going to be shit show, probably the worst launch of all the expansions. Had time to get hardware for a year, chose not to, so now deal with the refunds.
