I did Tower of Babil to see how bad this nerf was. Normally I'd level at the same pace as my trusts, which for them is roughly 3-4 dungeons (5 near the final dungeon.) Nothing feels like it's changed, I'm still leveling at the same pace, although this may be because they recently increased the amount of exp earned.

tbh I feel this is a bad move.
I've had multiple times some trash pulls would have leveled me before the boss while leveling Sage. Would have been great to have the 76 gear I had before the boss fight to make it a little easier since m ost of the gear I have is still 70.
also, as Reaper I could have had some skills and gear during trash pulls to make these pulls faster.
Think where only getting half the exp. that we use to get. They really need to boost all dungeons and roulettes exp. by alot.
Probably has something to do with the scaling changes in Endwalker. Instead of going into every single mob and reducing its XP given to match our new scaling, they just stripped it all out and changed the scaling on the bosses.Yeah, they moved all trash EXP to the boss, so you'll get nothing on the way but a bigger bite with each boss you defeat.
As for the why? I dunno, actually. I don't see anyone abusing "let me farm the first two packs for exp and then bail" or anything like that. Maybe as a discouragement system for people to just drop, since they'd have wasted their time for nothing if they don't clear a boss first? Idk, like I said, I haven't seen anyone abusing that.
Honestly, I like it. We can now avoid as much trash as possible, and this makes dungeons faster instead of fighting everything and having stopgaps along the way.
I haven't bothered to compute whether overall exp changes. I would assume it's roughly the same. BUT, it FEELS terrible. Trash mobs are a roadblock to the boss, but before you got SOMETHING for taking them out.
I like that trash mobs no longer suck up my rested exp bonus. It didn't matter before the change if the enemy was trash or a boss...it all sucked up the same rested experience bonus. I wish they would do something similar with crafting...trying to make a bunch of older basic mats will drain your rested exp so fast if you're not at max level already.
