I say, please look around the forums before coming to the conclusion that hardware is at fault and also put a thinking cap on. If this is SERIOUSLY THE ONLY GAME TO CAUSE API CRASHES THEN MAYBE... JUST MAYBE, THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE GAME.

Also think about this for a minute... or a while.
If it is taxing something that a decent gpu cannot handle in my case a 5700xt.... Would it not fall to the devs to investigate and maybe code a work around to not tax the system component that hard?
Also since you seem so sure of this... pray tell, what component causes fatal DX11 errors?
Driver Timeouts and the DX11 Fatal Errors are BOTH indicative of HARDWARE issues and likely video driver issues due to said faulty hardware. And once again, I will remind you that so is the need to reinstall your video drivers like you've stated you've had to do sometimes. Specifically, GPU issues more likely than not. Possibly combined with other faulty hardware but almost certainly GPU issues at the very least. Also, FF14 is software that operates on D3D11 aka DX11 and thus it cannot cause a PC to lock up, shutdown or BSOD a computer in the absence of hardware, driver flaws, or flaws in the operating system.

I have taken a look around the forums a lot at this point but the conclusion remains the same in that it is entirely faulty hardware causing the DX11 issues. It really doesn't matter how many other games you can play without issues or that only FF14 is causing you issues. The fact remains that you have faulty hardware. Stop blaming the game and start maybe actually looking into figuring out exactly what hardware in your PC is faulty.

Doesn't matter what GPU you have....you could have a top of the line, best on the market GPU but if the hardware is faulty, you're going to have issues so no it is NOT on the devs to investigate or code anything so people with faulty hardware can play without issues. That's on the user to find the faulty piece or pieces of hardware and replace them to fix their PC because eventually that faulty hardware is gonna start causing more and more issues for the user until it causes a cascade effect that wrecks their PC entirely due to neglect in fixing their PC.

And like I said above, GPU is the most likely culprit with possibly other hardware too. But the GPU is most likely the first thing one should check.
