And since I play plenty of jobs, I'd like not to waste a ton of hours that I could spend leveling, crafting, gathering, farming, etc., without even mentioning stuff outside of the game, skipping cutscenes and running from point a to point b.
Then you'll just have to live with the fact that a MSQ skip for the current expansion won't be available until the next expansion's release. As for SE's reason for holding it back for that long? It's entirely possible that their system can only skip a character past entire expansions, rather than partial skips. It could also be that they don't want to continuously add a MSQ skip item to the cash shop with every single major patch.

I took it literally, cause he ain't wrong.

If you hate the story so much, the central part of every final fantasy game that has ever existed, then why even buy the expansion?

These quests aren't even difficult. It's amazing how many people can't handle running to a giant glowing circle with an NPC running behind 'em.

The stealth instance was easy AF. They know most of the playerbase is bad, that's why MSQ is always so easy (they even added a very easy mode, that I watched a streamer repeatedly fail), yet people still cry about these incredibly simple quests.

"Hey hide behind that rock from that NPC." "OH GOD I'M HARD STUUUUUUCK PLEASE ADD AN AUTO-FOLLOW POTION SO I CAN PROGRESSSSSSS"

I won't stop anyone wanting to skip through the story, but that is pretty much half the game, so I would never suggest it.

Since the team likes to think what they read in the forums is the majority's opinion, I'd like to say I'm quite enjoying the expansion. Currently on level 85 quests, there was maybe one small period that got tedious from being just two or three quests too long.

The dungeons and trials so far have been really fun. At first I was kinda annoyed with the delay of the first savage tier, but I'm now thankful I get enough time to finish the MSQ.

Leveling up other jobs, crafters, gatherers, prep mats for gear. Collecting the dragon mounts from last expac's trials or any of the other ones. Make gil for a house. Decorate the house u already have or prep items for decorating your future house. This game isn't 90% story there's way more to do than just sit in a cutscene and then run back and forth lol.

I did that for over 6 months while waiting for Endwalker. This game is half story, half everything else. But at this moment, if you remove the story what else can you do? Leveling up? Decorate? You can still do all that while playing the story. Have you finished raising your Shared fate rank?

You don't have to do the story in one go. Still a few weeks for savage raids and housing.

Aye, that is the gist of it. Let people play how they want. I mean they literally sell skips in the mog station already so they know some people don't care one wit about the story. The only issue is that the subsequent story patches are not out yet. Meaning that unless the new story doesn't require you going through EndWalker's post story to access, the people who do skip won't get the entirety of the value of said skip at this time.

This is the only issue I see with this. It took me awhile to learn this lesson myself, but here goes: If something about how another player enjoys the game bothers you so much, why are you playing an MMO? "Online interactions not rated..." is the hint that you can't and should not attempt to control someone else's play style. Telling them to quit is tantamount to a child throwing a fit because another kid has more fun playing soccer instead of baseball. We deal with it and choose to find others who enjoy the game the way we do. It is the only option we have.

Just my opinion. Won't lose sleep if you don't like it.

It will affect us in a few ways.

    1. Those people will have a competitive advantage in finishing leveling all the jobs to 90 faster if they skip the story, thus being able to show off their mount/achievement on social media earlier. And we all know that only the first few posts get all the upvotes/likes/attention.

    2. It will create more pressure for other people to catch up to them, creating constant dilemma in those people about whether to pursue the story for fun or buy the skip for efficiency.

    3. They can immediately access all gathering nodes, which allows them earlier market opportunities than the general public.

I've gained two levels from just talking to people so far. I'm very disappointed after how good the previous expansion story was.

I REALLY hope this one improves soon for me.
I find that argument a bit funny because this was how every single expansion of this game worked. You talk with people helping them ad infinitum, every once in a while you enter into a duty, you get like 3 or 4 dungeons? And two or so trials. That's it. That's the formula, it doesn't change, and Square never was good at making quests to be honest.

I'm not sure why you bought this one thinking it would be any different in that regard. Shadowbringers was the same. You can say you dislike the story (personally, I am enjoying it), but the quest design is pretty much very similar.
