Aye, that is the gist of it. Let people play how they want. I mean they literally sell skips in the mog station already so they know some people don't care one wit about the story. The only issue is that the subsequent story patches are not out yet. Meaning that unless the new story doesn't require you going through EndWalker's post story to access, the people who do skip won't get the entirety of the value of said skip at this time.
This is the only issue I see with this. It took me awhile to learn this lesson myself, but here goes: If something about how another player enjoys the game bothers you so much, why are you playing an MMO? "Online interactions not rated..." is the hint that you can't and should not attempt to control someone else's play style. Telling them to quit is tantamount to a child throwing a fit because another kid has more fun playing soccer instead of baseball. We deal with it and choose to find others who enjoy the game the way we do. It is the only option we have.
