Tbh it seems that way in all honesty... Can say its for original bosses but Zodiark not only is a ff12 summon also has a weapon set in ff.Yoshida have 0 respect for Final Fantasy X.
Ixion is a buged fate
Yojimbo is use by gold saucer
And now Anima is a bad donjon fight
Community ask for blitzball he just laugh ...
So happy before the release to thinking farm Anima/magus x time for take the mount and do good parse !
Now just need to quit this game, farm x time and tryhard bad boss out of yoshi's imagination again is unthinkable for me.
Like how "repear is orginal" or so they say but cant trick me its basically Vincent in ff7 with a mele weapon
Just wanted to share my support for this thread. I felt the exact same way when I saw Anima at the end of the dungeon. She (or well, he this time) looked amazing, the mechanics were cool, the design was flawless.
But where was the music? The epicness? It left a very sour taste in my mouth and impacted my experience with this expansion. That's not to say the expansion hasn't been great, because it has, but I cannot help but to feel so disappointed and sad about this. I know they never outright said Anima would be a trial... but they cannot fault us for expecting that, considering that Anima was announced just the same as past trials.
After what happened to Yojimbo, not surprised at all.
While FFXIV frequently references past games and few other Square-Enix IP, I'm thankful that with Endwalker all of the important encounters are all FFXIV-specific rather than just a fight thrown in for the fan service. The Magus Sisters and Anima still get their screen time as fights but beyond their relevance to the story that's all they get--and frankly, while I get the importance they each had in previous games, I'm glad that's all they got.
The most of ppl play at this game for beat final fantasy boss reference.
If i need boss who are not in final fantasy world i play a other mmo.
They're trying to make their own game. FFX still exists for you to play it. This is how FF titles work in general, and I for one am glad they didn't try to remake FFX for the conclusion to the longest running FF story (that is FFXIV's) ever. THAT would feel like a scam.
Hard agree on this. Important story stuff should be FFXIV central, with the fanservice stuff put off to side content. MMO First, FF Themepark Second, in my mind. While FFXIV frequently references past games and few other Square-Enix IP, I'm thankful that with Endwalker all of the important encounters are all FFXIV-specific rather than just a fight thrown in for the fan service. Also unrelated but I saw your face and thought it was me for a second...
eh I don't mind, in fact actually feel positive for it. Cameo appearance is just that, cameo. When I play new games I prefer to have new-original content. Cameo is nice and provide 10 min of nostalgia, but I don't really care much beyond that. If anything, the series so far has way too many meaningless cameo. I'm once for glad this arc is coming to a close, and the dev had announced they prefer to focus on more original characters moving forward. So if you're playing this game for the sole reason of seeing old favorite, I think you will be disappointed.
And for the record, I think Hydaelyn is fantastically portrait-ed through the MSQ.
Would love to see a Minstral's Ballad: Anima. All primals have gotten Trial fights. It's wrong that Anima does not. Also Varis got robbed big time. But I think it's done this way to showcase how powerful the WoL is where the typical Primal is more or less completely trivial to fight and easily overcome.
I understand that people know Anima as Seymour's mother but here Anima is predominantly male using Varis's corpse as the catalyst for the summoning and is also a she as the people refer to Garlemald as a she when they express fighting for their country, fighting for "her" prosperity.
Pretty interesting take. I'd rather that radio tune play throughout the whole fight IMO.
