How about anyone who needs a warning grow up
trigger warnings in already violent media....

I'd say we need more discussion of these topics than warning of their existence. a tigger warning will not solve a problem that has spanned millenia and in my view only promote censorship which is counterproductive to efforts in present day regarding topics you brought forth in your post.
i think having a setting to include warnings would be good. some people are more affected by certain things than others.
while serious topics have come up previously, i don't remember them showing it as explicitly. mostly in text, y'know? so you could just kinda gloss over it if you wanted to.
and this time they really dragged it out too, to drive the point home, like he's really gonna do it. man.
edit: like, i signed up for your average fantasy violence, and this felt less fantasy to me. have him dissolve in the aetherial sea for all i care. but a gun?

Its probably why the event happens off camera too . Perhaps the alternative would have been , due to his age his heart gave out suddenly . Perhaps that would have been more sadder and still convey that the legatus was stricken with grief and despair leading up to it.
I have, and I've struggled with depression to the point of suicide. Growing the f**k up involves being able to handle triggers. It is not the job of everyone else to make sure I'm fine and nothing offends or bothers me. It is up to me to control such for my own health and well being. I'm so glad I stopped going to therapy before all this trigger warning bulls**t began to be pushed. I've seen it simply reinforce the depression and triggers rather than help over come them.
In addition
This entire expansion is all about the fact that life has suffering, pain, depression, despair and about not letting it decide your fate. Take an actual lesson from the game.

To the OP.
I have personally been affected by suicide and I did not find this scene as any issue. Trigger warnings or anything of the sort would not help your feelings and hiding from it is just as unhealthy.
I am sorry these scene affected you this way however the thoughts that you had from the scene are unreasonable and you should seek help immediately if things of this nature affect you in this way.
You should realize that the only reason things turned out well for the Garleans after this scene is because they had people there to help and support them through this.
Suicide is a horrible thing, but is unfortunately a real thing and people will never understand how it affects others. That said hiding it will not alleviate the problem some face with this.
If this scene causes anyone to have similar feelings you should seek help immediately as these feelings need to be addressed ASAP.
But no I do not agree with TW.

I mean....it has been the norm since the time of the Trojan War (so Bronze Age)for folk who lead soldiers to end their own lives when they feel there is no other option to save their honour and dignaity in the real world. They're just using what was a military practice with is rather old.

I am neither for nor against a trigger warning. I have nothing to say about that.
I can say that as someone who has faced these kinds of thoughts, you have my sympathies. Having finished the whole story, I'd suggest that you strongly consider whether you are in the right state of mind to continue the MSQ, because as far as suicide and suicidal ideation goes, that cutscene is nothing compared to what comes later.
I'll finish by saying that I am glad you are here with us and hope to see you around Eorzea.
I agree there are like 4 plot points in 30hours cutscenes that require deeper thoughts about oneself or topic at hand. Thought OP never reflected how his own actions in story managed to kill 2 sisters, nor he cared about it, so I wouldnt put much faith into him.I am neither for nor against a trigger warning. I have nothing to say about that.
