These new "role" quests should just be extended story.

I'm glad that the "role" quests exist, it definitely added some much needed background information to show the problem extended past the current zone, but they don't have anything to do with the class, the role, or anything else. You could slot in a tank or physical dps into the caster one and lose nothing. That Shadowbringer ones atleast had some semblance of connection by following the original job mascot.

I understand that SE didn't like making class specific story lines and gave them the ol yeller treatment, but I don't think that was the correct method. I would much prefer to tail the corresponding 'class' in that particular culture, a "Mile in their shoes" if you will.
Does Thavnair have mages? Let me see how they incorporate them into society. Does Sharlaya have anything other than sages and gatherers? Please show me and not tell me about them.

All the caster "role" quest showed was that Ishguard has religion problems and kills dragons. They have no reason to be locked behind classes and should of just ran along side the MSQ

Although I haven't finished it yet, at least the Healer role quest has to do with healing both in the literal sense (you spend the storyline mostly picking up after battles rather than hunting monsters yourself) and in the figurative sense (healing Fordola's emotional wounds.) One of my friends currently running the Tank quest has told me that it doesn't have too much thematic to do with being a tank though. I'm disappointed to hear that's the case for the other quests, while I understand the main plot being unable to reference your class/role very much, Role quests should be the time to have it come up. A Ranged DPS story should be about supporting allies, etc.
