"In from the Cold" Scenario, any way to skip it?

This quest was insane. Getting put into another body was one thing but Zenos taking over yours after that felt like getting curb stomped after already falling on the ground from getting kicked in the crotch. Not only are you weaker but you are also anxious and desperate to get back to save your friends in time and racing against the clock, trying to figure out how to escape the city. I'm not going to lie watching Zenos take control of my character made me a bit sick to my stomach but holy crap was it a great villain moment in the game. I hated this quest but I loved it because I hated it.

Yeah emotionally this was the first time XIV made me feel anything. I always wanted to kill Zenos but it was just because I think he's shit, NOW I want to kill him so BAD BECAUSE he actually did something in game to make me hate him! I think it was a ballsy move to do that. I can see why they didn't over step it by actually having him kill our friends in our body... but just doing what he did gave the emotions I needed. My WOL needed a major shower after that turn of events..... but to then go to the moon too.... I cried. This game made me love it again.

I beat it on the first try, still hated it though. I didn't like the story, I hated the mechanics. I was cursing at it the entire way through, debating if I should just die right away and swap to very easy, but didn't see how that was going to help any so just plowed through.

Then that QTE was just stupid level hard. I dropped my controller to swap to spamming E and clicking at the same time and only barely made it through (with much more cursing).

It didn't help that I was already feeling garlemald was dragging, wasn't enjoying any of the story/mechanics in the entire zone and just wanted to be done with it(and thought I was during dinner, only for *this* to pop up).

This was by far the worst part of the entire game for me, even beating out the endless Raja battles in ShB.

I still don't understand this part. Any key works, not just E. Pretend you're typing like some "hacker" in the movies and it's easy. Yeah, gotta drop the controller, but keyboard is easymode.

I get a feeling of accomplishment when I beat a difficult boss or master a rotation. This I just felt relieved it was over. This wasn't a challenge, it was dropping you into an entirely different game and making you adapt to it. The worst part was the removal of regeneration, which is something that is, as far as I know, unprecedented in MSQ.

As far as we know, natural health regen is from the body processing Aether to heal itself. So it would make sense that being in a Garlian body would remove your ability to regen.

I will be blunt and frank at the amount of whining I’m seeing here about this duty in particular. For anyone who has an inkling of memory if you were here in ARR: DO YOU REMEMBER THE STEPS OF FAITH?

That was nerfed into the ground and basically lost its experience once people could simply DPS the dragon senseless. I do not want another duty to be watered down so much again because of the player base crying about this when it’s very well done from what it is trying to evoke; especially now. (Second post coming since Mobile)

I have never in the entirety of playing this game liked playing as another character. I hated every single one and have the right to. I'd rather these be cutscenes than something I am forced to play out to progress. Its not that they are challenging, they're a major annoyance on several levels and the very LEAST the devs could do is allow me to move around the given buttons we have to our liking. Currently, they don't and it infuriates me.

My major issue with this whole instance is

there is absolutely nothing to guide you where you needed to go.

I legitamately wandered around in circles for 10 minutes trying to find a way out. It didn't need to have obvious markers, but perhaps a certain mocking npc could have been angled in the direction we needed to go? So sorry that my first thought for this quest was find a way to leave the area by the map only to be blocked off by nothing but red dotted invisible walls and had to look up a video to find the area the magitek armor was.

All I really needed was a direction to walk in. Everything else was fine. I should not have to look outside a game to find something when the quest itself should be more than capable of giving me a hint.

Actually say through and read the entire thread. Surprised at how strongly some disliked this mission. Some of ya'll take the "don't touch my character!" thing seriously eh?

My only REAL complaint was how quickly it was over. There was no consequence, no real loss, no fear of it happening again. There was no real point to it.

Now, as someone else suggested, an all out fight against the WOL/Zenos and the Scions with us controling Thancred or one of the Twins, sure. THAT would have been epic. Have us struggle to hold our own against WOL/Zenos as the Scions while at the same time WOL/Crappy-Soldier-Dude is trying to make it back?

That would have been something else.

The only thing what is missing here is the skip button. And please also one for those follow but do not see me quests. Questing was so nice until Endwalker, why change now to this crap.
