"In from the Cold" Scenario, any way to skip it?

I think the quest is supposed to make you feel uneasy, you finally get to see how powerful the Warrior of Light is supposed to be compared to a normal person. I can see why they did it, the only problem I found was the body swap story point well there was no real pay off to it

They should have let us keep the armor.
