"In from the Cold" Scenario, any way to skip it?

This has to be the worst quest I have ever did in a mmo. It explains nothing, it was beyond horrible. I felt nothing but pissed off by the time I was done, now more than ever I think a skip for junk like this needs added. I hate these kind of quests, and this quest made me hate them more.

Gonna be honest, this is the only post which has made me wish for a dislike button. If you're going to quit over briefly playing as a trash mob, clearly you don't like the game that much or feel much connection to it, despite saying otherwise.
Your soul is protected from enthrallment, not anchored to your body. Such was made evident in the Ala Mhigo dungeon. It aligns with the story we have been given.

You just need to evade and not run around in front of all of the mobs. It was a different experience and while it was stressful, i liked it for it's difference.

This mission was easy but surprisingly fun. Hopefully they implement more missions like this and less "escort/follow NPC". I know the latter are more in line with the skill level of the majority of the playerbase, but they make for a boring, repetitive and lame game.

Put me in the camp of "I hated this quest". I hate the RP duties in general (I didn't spend countless hours on my character just to play some NPC), but playing this one was just awful. I hate stealth and don't want to sneak around things in the first place. I finished the duty on first try with about 10 minutes left. It was not hard. It was just tedius. I did log off the game the moment the cutscenes were over and so far have not logged back in. Might try in the morning when queues aren't absurd, but I don't know. Garlemald has been a series of really annoying and unpleasant quest mechanics in a row. From Thancred's RP session, to the girl in green follow-a-long, to this Duty, it's just driven away any sense of enjoyment the story itself might have had.

And as others have said, the reasoning behind this duty completely destroys the story. At any point, the villains could win simply by pulling you out and then destroying your empty body. Apparently good will only win, because evil is dumb.

I really liked this duty. Finished it on my first shot. It made sense. It had impact. I think it was overall really good. I dont know how anyone can fail it. Everything is bright and glowing telling you to click it...

I liked the duty, I failed at the end on the first time during a "quick time event" (the bane of games in general), because I hit the enter key and entered a;sdlkgjasd;fjasdpoigjasdfj into the speech bar instead of save myself. I would never want to see this be a regular kind of thing, and actually enjoyed the build up to this scene in terms of cut scene/dialogue.

Like others I've read in this thread, girl in green sucked, big. Probably one of the worst quests I've seen in the game. A lot of the follow npc quests kind of just suck. I'm glad they are trying new things I'm beyond sick of the talk to npc, walk across a zone and talk to another npc marked clearly on the map kinds of quests, but hopefully these sucky follow npc quests are stabbing into a new direction for quest architecture that we are gonna be blown away by in the future. soon™

I dont know how anyone can fail it. Everything is bright and glowing telling you to click it...

I had two main difficulties:

* After years being used to XIV's health regeneration being quick and automatic, I really wasn't expecting it to ever be turned off. I died twice before realizing that regen was turned off.

* The UI is deceptive. It greatly emphasizes the clock (which really isn't that important). There's a lot of bright and glowing things that don't do much, if anything.

Once I had multiple health packs, I thought I needed to prioritize speed by sneaking over "wasting time" on clickable objects. That strategy worked well...until I got too close to the end of the first area and a horde of bots stomped me flat.

After that death, I snuck over to the gate a second time, saw the robot, and clicked on The One True Glowing Object. After that, I sailed through the rest because the UI finally revealed what the actual goal of the scenario was.

I actually enjoyed this duty, it was refreshing! Getting the parts for the magitek and blasting mobs on it wasn’t too difficult. I like this one way more than the “squid game” quests.
