"In from the Cold" Scenario, any way to skip it?

Ofc it's fine if you don't like it. It's just I feel like you focus on how annoying the duty is, instead of what's happening around you there.

I mean, they're probably not wrong. It -was- indeed annoying from certain point of view. The only thing that really annoys me in this kind of quests is I had to continuously spam 1 button mindlessly as I chip away target's health slowly. This lull usually make my mind drifts elsewhere. I feel like I'd find more enjoyment if they could make threats more dangerous but also die quicker. In this duty, engaging mindlessly can be threatening, but it still feels slow paced. On the other hand, very easy mode only fixes half of that: things are at faster pace but nothing's threatening.

But personally? Without that kind of annoyance (avoiding mobs, finding what I need to survive and progress through) I wouldn't be immersed into the atmosphere this particular duty designed for: helplessness, fear, violated, dread, and like Floortank mentioned, realizing the true worth of us---the player. It's the best solo duty in the game Imho

The healing potions aren't needed, it's the fuel tank or whatever, as I recall, and you can't pick that up until you talk to the pilot.

You are forced to fight a bunch of mobs at the end, you will get some aggro, you will also take unavoidable damage and a stack marker so yeah you probably need 1 or 2 potions for safety, even if you avoided all the patrolling mobs


Just going to say i enjoyed it, it was stressing which added a lot of panic factor for me (i ended up exploring everything because i missed the immobilised magitek so in the end i got most of the healing stuff and fought 3 imperials) but the last stretch was cool and sad, i was praying it would be the end lol

That's the thing you see the whole thing as filler, where others sees the relevance to it as WoL. How it plays into the story. I'm sure you're mad at it, because you got spotted, and were made to fight as the weaker Imperial Soldier and not as your all powerful WoL (or the class you're best familiar with). A lot of us were frustrated at that part, I'm sure, but what it lead into, it makes sense. I say you need to finish the quest as you stated, before calling it "just filler." To me filler is following a girl in green dress to catch them, or the dart game. Those are more fillers.

Sure, I still need to finish it, I did the duty portion of it, or first if there are multiple. From the start to crawling out of the city. But unless Zenos does something major while in the char's body, the whole quest will amount to nothing. I would rather go back go do random chores as they were better written.

Our return brought so much fun to me. Even tho it wasn't anything special, after having to go through being helpless and then into literally "hey bastard *heavy breathing*, I've come to take what is mine" and then the quality of the animation of our push while trying to yeet Zenos out of our body" was really enjoyable.

Zenos could at anytime massacre all the scions, if he really wanted to. We somehow crawl from one end of the map - in a frozen wasteland - and still make it to Zenos in time.

Am I the only one that thought this scenario was awesome o.o

The overal weakness and pressure to find healing potions, as you weren't yourself and couldn't stealth your way past everything, topped by the heart pounding music to find a way out before time runs out and he reachs your friends. I was getting completely swept up in the story by this stage.

Then to see yourself in this body, struggle to your last, even when everything is stacked against you, was beautiful to me o.o

Not to mention the cutscene that plays out after it all, was just perfect, I had to replay that in my inn a 2nd time just to process what happened (mostly Zenos melting me with his hawtness xD)..

As for the technical side of the scenario, I got through it fine, didn't need to repeat it, it was very straight forward and laid down a path for you to follow, I'd imagine most ppl got distracted from it by shinies, which caused them to be lost? :P

Glad you enjoyed the resolution. I for one, was actually hoping there would be something more dramatic like our scions friends or allies getting wounded from the farce. I was hoping for them to instill the terror and discourse further but alas! Not what I'm hoping but still acceptable!

Ahh yes random chores is much easier to get through, but would have had much less impact in that particular sequence of events. I'm glad they didn't ruin that moment by a "step and fetch" quest. I suggest doing on Very Easy mode to cause you less frustration. No shame in it, I did it in that mode for the same reason. It still has the same impact on the story without being super flustered.

I think you miss the point of Zenos and his character. I will not go into details tho. Keep going and you will be reminded or learn why things are happening
