Also you kinda need to be immersed with the story to understand the atmosphere. Ofc it's fine if you don't like it. It's just I feel like you focus on how annoying the duty is, instead of what's happening around you there.
Yes, that's what they were going for. The feeling of helplessness, in a form not your own. Unfortunately, even if I was playing my WoL, I'd be striving to avoid every single enemy, just as the mission states, but obviously not for the reason of "helplessness". You have to run back and forth, from one side to the other, and if you didn't know to go the "right" way, first, you may be running around and around, due to it having to be done in a specific order.

I actually got lost there and just started walking around collecting every shiny I could see, so eventually when I found my way out, I already had all needed items

The healing potions aren't needed, it's the fuel tank or whatever, as I recall, and you can't pick that up until you talk to the pilot.

It was the key. You could fill the tank with fuel without it. You needed healing potions if you weren't careful and pulled a few mobs. Still, I think I collected everything in that duty.

I think this quest was a drag for people that really don't take things slow or are in a rush to finish the game fast. My friend rushed all the MSQ he liked the story just really didn't care much of it, this quest was hell for him. i was stessed out but in a good way, felling the emotions of a garlean that couldn't do anything. To be fair i did it on my first try, if i failed that quest i would probably by a bit angry to do it again.

It's not even that the blessing of light was taken away, it's not tied to the body. The weakness is your character not being used to the new body, the Garlean's lack of magical ability and the body you get tossed into just being exceptionally weak.

The point is, we couldn't use it at the moment. It was a test if we could manage without it. Besides, we were in Garlemald, literally few blocks away from Zenos and Fandaniel, we should've expected them to come and say hi to us. And they did.

That's the thing you see the whole thing as filler, where others sees the relevance to it as WoL. How it plays into the story. I'm sure you're mad at it, because you got spotted, and were made to fight as the weaker Imperial Soldier and not as your all powerful WoL (or the class you're best familiar with). A lot of us were frustrated at that part, I'm sure, but what it lead into, it makes sense. I say you need to finish the quest as you stated, before calling it "just filler." To me filler is following a girl in green dress to catch them, or the dart game. Those are more fillers.

Atleast we were put in a body of a soldier and not a common citizen of Garlemald and given a stick for protection...
