"In from the Cold" Scenario, any way to skip it?

The thing that annoyed me the most was the "click button fast" mechanic that jumps on you at the end. I use my keyboard for those, and it was sitting 4 feet away from me. By the time I had picked it up, I failed the mechanic.

Yeah as much as I loved this duty, the active time maneuver being so difficult caught me off guard. I manged to start mashing my keyboard in time to pass but I'm not sure why they'd bother making it that hard.
