FFXIV Not On Square Enix's E3 List

The one game square soft did good marketing with was FF7. There was magazine ads everywhere and commercials on tv. Lots and lots of ads...and to this day it is one of the most successful and known final fantasy titles. Now if only they do that with xiv. :/

Hurr the primary audience is Japan. Advertising in the US if you're an off-shore country is probably ludicrously expensive. Forget just the exchange rates, the US is probably the most capitalist country on the planet. I'm glad SE isn't draining loads of dollars on a market that generally doesn't give a fuck about foreign games. Its just a waste of money. Fans of japanese games dont need advertising because we keep up with it anyway.

I'm not sure where you're getting any of this, because I saw an XIII-2 commercial every other break throughout January and February this year. XII, X, X-2, and many others have had commercials slathered on the tube, from Cartoon Network to SciFi/SyFy to pro wrestling, basically anything with a handle on the 15-35 demographic. Most big SE releases get commercials, and many, many Japanese releases get all sorts.

Major companies, like SE, or a Capcom or Konami or Sony, have US divisions that handle much of the marketing here. I doubt it's that much more expensive to do than any other advertisers.

Generally I believe the list is in reference to titles that will be on display on the floor. Demo's if you will. Final Fantasy XIV has been confirmed it will have a presence at E3, and the only place that makes sense at is Sony's Conference. It is a PS3 Exclusive (console wise) after all. So they will show a trailer.

I also expect Versus to be there as well to be honest as Final Fantasy XV. They are going to drop the XIII part out of the name.

Square-Enix hasn't mentioned anything about renaming Final Fantasy Versus XIII, yet. It's still a possibility, but for now it's purely speculations. What i've read on the internet so far are more or less the community giving their idea's why Final Fantasy Versus XIII should be renamed to Final Fantasy XV. Personally, i don't really care what the game is called, just as long as it's released (soon). (^_^ )

I also think the reason why Final Fantasy Versus XIII and XIV are not mentioned on the Square-Enix E3 list is because Sony/SE wants to suprise the gamers with news about the game(s) (even though they might not be playable on the showroom floor at the E3). Just like more people mentioned within this thread.

Yeah, after playing through Type-0 a few times there's only so few references to any of the XIII lore honestly...I mean it's there but not enough to fully fit into the XIII world like Versus will.

At very least the game needs to be rebranded. Like Final Fantasy XIV-2, or even Final Fantasy XV. So many people remember the original release and how bad it was and won't be coming back to give it another chance.
