Monk right now is the most fun i've had in a long time in this game. Will level WAR first for smooth queues then breaking bank on monk this xpac.
Love the changes, love the job.
Some real quote from u dawg, no cap fam
"""Love the new MNK so much, finally they got ride of the positionals i was upset about... and i told them what to do, i requested the EXACT same thing a half year ago. I can´t be more happy, love the new MNK, love the game! Ty very much SE!""" <------ Go play WAR first.
Looks like some serious new MNK main incoming. A new hero awaits the rest of us in the partyfinder to beat ultimate and savage. I hope all of us can be lucky to get the best MNK in Endwalker into our queue... *Head meets table*
(EDIT: SE really knows how to cater their audience, especially WHICH audience...)

To touch on this, I think the whole blitz should be put into oGCD. it'll make everything flow more smoothly. Not only that they need to change the animation for steel peak, it's horrendous that they reused shoulder tackle for it.I don't rly agree at all that Blitz feels like a chore, the issue with it is mostly imo that they took ogcds and turned them into gcds instead of new abilities.
Tornado Kick and Elixir Field should still be ogcds.
Rising Phoenix and Flint Strike should be the two ones and then Phantom Rush the finisher.
It really just feels like Elixir Field and Tornado Kick were just '' removed '' because they wanted something for lower levels and synced content and didn't want to come up with new animations...
Either they should be new animations that gets upgraded later or the final ones should just always be the default and then add new traits or skills to make up for them while leveling.
For example...
A passive speed buff trait, just why do we not have this after we lost it from GL4 when they made it a passive?
Add that passive instead and just make Tornado Kick and Elixir Field ogcds again.
I don't agree with this at all, we already have so many issues with animations being cancelled before they finish ( this is already a problem with Phantom Rush ).
I'd like to see the animations too especially for the big hitters.
I actually do think this is an issue with Tornado Kick and Elixir Field as ogcds too but I don't believe that a new system like Blitz should have re-used ogcds as gcds it feels lazy and not like we actually got new abilities at all ( a recurring problem with MNK, which has affected Tornado Kick before multiple times ).
I am fine with Blitz being gcd and I do think that our big bursty skills with high potency should be there should be nice visual feedback there imo.

I still do them but it feels much less rewarding because it doesn't matter. The whole class was a nice dance of always hitting your positionals to get the most out of it and the ceiling for it was directly tied with how well you could perform that dance but now it just feels empty. The removal of our oGCDs doesn't help that feeling either because we just have less to do.
The class feels hollow to play and it sucks.
The funny thing is that the positionals are less forgiving to miss now because the potency bonus is actually higher.
So you're even more compelled to do them than before.
Which makes it a bit bizarre for some people to celebrate about the devs supposedly listening to them.
Give Navnav time to actually be able to log in, finish MSQ on Tank first, then level monk. They'll get right on to complaining about how punishing and unfair that is soon enough... January at the earliest, given the queue times. The funny thing is that the positionals are less forgiving to miss now because the potency bonus is actually higher.
So you're even more compelled to do them than before.

I mean, hitting one positional per combo chain is a lot easier than three. The funny thing is that the positionals are less forgiving to miss now because the potency bonus is actually higher.
