Reaper job story is extremely underwhelming

(Note, this has nothing to do with Reapers gameplay, I do love that. This is specifically about the story/background of the Reaper)

I was really hoping for a solid job quest line, but Reaper was just....boring. One of the things that I like about job quests, is how they usually deal with my characters growth directly.

Not only did the quest chain have almost nothing to do with me, it was fairly boring all around. Can sum it up to "Oh, evil voidy boy, gotta kill it because it killed my family". Beginning and end right there. The "twist" in it, isn't even that eventful, because there was no development whatsoever for the characters.

What I was hoping for, is seeing my character journey to bind a voidsent that will become my avatar. Maybe via some dark twist or something. Along with learning to live with my avatar.

Instead we just poke a soul gem, and pow, we have an avatar for some reason, and its never spoken about again, despite being what truly makes Reaper unique. I wanted my Voidsent to become a sort of "pet", instead, it ends up being less notable than your weapon.

Overall, Reaper lore feels like a 1 night throwaway story. I really hope we get more in regards to it later.

P.S. Was really hoping that bstance/vpose would have the Voidsent come out and do something. Really sad that didn't happen either.

For me at least, it helped going in knowing that 1) Sage and Reaper would have the least amount of job story content of any jobs in the game, and 2) Reaper would be just as shallow as any other sort of game content that remotely looks like fan service.

When expectations are lowered, disappointment can be averted.

It's tough to design a full in depth story from level 70 on that compares to job stories that went from level 1 and evolved over time. With the limited story there was, I thought it was pretty well done. Just wish there was more of a backstory for the bad guy. If it had about 10 more quests like most classes, I think it would be one of the better stories.

It gave off some amazing lore. It also gave us a understanding of what we are getting into. What more do you want? It was even creepy at times.

I thought it was fine. It was better than the base class quests and to the point. Not everything is going to be Dark Knight, and for only five (four?) quests it was done well.

I felt kind of the same way about Sage. It had an interesting plot at the start, but the final encounter just being in some completely barren cave with almost no build up?

Amazing lore? They were farmers, and exiles from garlemald? Pretty much sums up the lore lol, and thats barely a summary. I don't think they even talked about how they bind the Voidsent.

? Her grandfather and what he tried to do. Price he paid, the stress he went with. All of that was pretty good. Got to see a certain someone again as well.

SGE was worse. Chosen one cliche right from the moment you talk to the quest NPC, you are amazing at it from the very beginning, the very best, no one has ever picked it up as fast as you. Annoying, naive, aw-shucks catgirl companion. Truly awful tutorial mission. Cliche villain with stupid motivations who is barely fleshed out enough to even be called villain. Twist was obvious from the first quest in Idylshire. Add it to the the mile long list of disappointment with EW.
