Error 2002 is unacceptable

Alright, I have to say, this 2002 situation is unacceptable.

I can understand huge wait queues. I can understand lack of servers.

In both regards, I walk away and come back 5 hours later. I've played through MMO releases before, that isn't new and is understandable.

However, what I can't comprehend is why my client closes every time it receives a connectivity issues.

Or

While waiting in queue I periodically get connectivity issues.

Or

Why I can't even access the queue because of connectivity issues.


This release should have been delayed further and this issue addressed.

I cannot stand in front of my computer for hour after hour attempting to log in. Requiring me to be in front of my computer, constantly entering my passwords, attempting to enter the queue only to be thrown out... or worse, finally getting into the queue to only be thrown out... or even worse, getting to the FRONT of the queue only to be thrown out (Anyone else get stuck at 1?).

I really do love this game... but I haven't seen a release this bad since 2003. That's truly not an exaggeration.

You are absolutely right, I really really really love this game as well, that's the ONLY reason I have haven't quit after this show of incompetency. This launch was indeed the WORST expansion release I have ever seen, even Battle For Azeroth, which was a buggy mess was better to me, at least I was able to play the game without waiting 11 hours on queue.

Look Im still very new to this game. I came from wow. The waiting is not the issue for me, The issue here is the getting kicked to the back of the line...Yea they put a notice about this upcoming issue but they had plenty of time to come up with a more suitable way to handle the que issue(2002).

After 11 LONG hours I was FINALLY able to connect and after the first quest I got disconnected... I'm done with this, fix this right now SE.

I Just waited in queue, only to get in, join a duty raid to exit the raid and kicked from server!

so not only 2002 errors but the old 90006 ones ar back in ARR raids :/

It seems I have woken up too early. Took several tries to even get to the character page without a 2002, and now I'm in a 5000 queue that I seriously doubt I'll get through without 3-5 2002 errors (minimum), the last one will be when I am #1 in line, and it will throw me to the back of the queue... So, I think back to bed for me.

Got bumped @ 6:30pm and 4.5 hrs later, I'm still trying to get back in. Numerous 2002 errors...each time starting further and further back in line from the previous start. Server connectivity errors due to timing out is NOT something for which players should be penalized.

Everything I read and heard before deciding to switch was that FFXIV never had launch day hick-up. This is one (of a long list) of Pros that the other big MMO has never been able to master in 21 years.

yesterday, after numerous 2002 errors, I finally got in after 5 hrs in que. Today I've had NO, ZERO, ZILCH, NADA luck logging into the game. To be precise, this is the first day of my paid sub and so far it's been 11 hrs...and counting...unsuccessfully trying to log in. Either its a 2002 errors after counting down for 1+ hrs or the world server is locked down and inaccessible all together. I understand this is a new, highly anticipated expac...but damn. It's not like they didn't know there would be this demand, so why not plan for it? Its better to practice an over-abundance of caution rather than leaving your customers to deal with this mess.
