Like many, I get server connection error since EW started, ive been trying all along and i was able to queue for two hours max before error, by now numbers barely ever go below 7000 when i get kicked out of queue.
As world was full every day before (short qs with 50-100 waiting but still full), i think its going to take months before i can play again (when all those 7k ppl finish EW and get bored). With such long queues and constant server connection kick outs of queue, it is a hopeless battle.

SO as MUCH as i want to play what i paid for, at this rate i dont think ill be able to anytime soon, and once i start a "replacement/comfort" game, i wont look back for months at least anyways. I had a 4 month hiatus on FFXIV before when i continued to pay all along because "ill get back on it next week, just gotta finish this other game quick" and so on. I dont want to repeat that.

Im just kind of afraid how that will impact my account if i go out now when the game is so full and on high demand...

I hope me giving up and accepting defeat does a favor for all others (and the server itself) but i dont want to be set back/lose anything or even lose the inactive account itself due to my space being needed or something, i really dont know how server population works..

I think i will want to play FFXIV again in the future, after ill finish whatever else ill get hooked on and actually have a chance to log in after others have finished all the new content, but i am afraid that if my account goes inactive now and unpaid, that i might lose it to the masses pressing for place in the world, be it justified "making space" or some glitch due to the high loads and inevitable errors.

Is there such a risk, can something like that possibly happen?
The biggest risk is a house if you have one. Otherwise? The Team has said that they don't want to make it feel like you HAVE to log in every day, but log in when you want to. This is...actually about normal for Early Access Weekend. Stormblood...had us all sorts of locked behind instance server single duties that hardly anyone could get through the entire early access. To be honest, it will calm down in about two weeks. it's a pain right now, but...give it time and relax. this is me as a person that's been playing since ARR.

It sucks that we may be losing someone, but at the same time, you need to do you. i live in a house with two other players. i'm the only one that's been able to get through the MSQ. About 4pm EST is when the heavy queue starts, that's not an excuse. it really isn't, it's just an observation.
