ive seen people having issues with their audio in game since endwalker dropped, but my issues are the opposite

my game runs fine but whenever ff14 is running in the background and im trying to watch a video on youtube/amazon prime, listening to music on itunes, or playing clash of clans on blue stacks my audio is crackly and videos seems to be playing in slow mo. this seems to just be a ff14 issue because i dont have these problems when playing halo, battlelfield, or stellaris instead of ff14. waiting in the the login queue doesnt seem to trigger this, its only once im actually logged into the game world that this happens

im playing in borderless windowed and i do have the fps limiter options checked for when its in the background and when i tried changing to full screen and disabling the fps limiter there werent any changes. i figured to try this since i assumed that maybe the game slowing down was somehow affecting the other programs on my other monitor

im on windows 10 and all my drivers for sound and video are updated according to the device manager and the option to roll back my nvidia drivers was greyed out, so i just reinstalled the driver since that was the most recent change ive made leading up to endwalker

ive also seen people say that they swapped to dx9 to temporarily fix their in game issues, but like i said these audio and video issues for other programs seem to be a result of ff14 running in the background

ill swap to dx9 next time my game crashes or i go to sleep to see if anything changes(five hour login queues arent fun especially when you get disconnected right before you get in and have to wait all over again) but if anyone has any ideas as to how to fix my crackly audio and slow mo videos id really appreciate it
