This is the first time I've logged on the forums in years, and I only did it to point out that none of this belongs in the Technical Support forum in the first place. OP wasn't reporting a technical issue they wanted a fix for; they were leaving customer feedback.

So here is what I have noticed...

Queue puts me at 5700 when I first start. If I am not here when the 2002 error pops up, then I seem to miss the window where I can quickly log back in around the same place I was kicked out. I have been okay-ish with this, but not really. The more appropriate term is "tolerant".

What I am not okay with is just now when I watched the queue count down from 5700 to 1 over the course of a few hours and then get a 2002 error that puts me back at 5500 in line.

Well to be fair there is a bug during the queue that is kicking people. But I came here first also not knowing where else to point out there is something wrong besides general. I think your could consider server issues a technical issue.

please enlighten me as to how much you paid extra over and above the normal expansion cost for the privilege of getting to play it 3 days early? please tell me what that cost is and show me where it is ITEMIZED as such. IF you can do that I'll agree I am wrong. Till you do I am going to stay with how I read the costs.

They don't have to itemize it to your satisfaction to be correct. SE offered early access if one preordered the game. Early Access wasn't offered as an extra add on or at a special premium, it was bundled in as part of the entire purchase. Therefore, early access isn't free, it is and was offered as part of the $30 to $60 spent to purchase the expansion in the first place.

The amount SE should offer as compensation, that's harder to put a figure on, if they offer any at all. Presuming they did provide players some compensation, say free game time or a refund of $1 to $15, there will always be someone who thinks it's too fair or unfair.

Now depending on the Jurisdiction, the offer of early access could be considered a form of contract under consumer protection laws, and would then make the current log in issues a breach of said contract on the part of Square Enix.

I love how many people are demanding compensation for what amounts to a dollar. Maybe as high as $2.16 if you have the maximum possible subscription like I do. And yet, I'm not complaining because this isn't anything new. This is your standard expansion launch.

Not a fallacy then. The cost was part of the bundle one paid for. If you wanted to argue the price went up after the initial preorder campaign or is being paid for by people who didn't preorder, you would be more correct.
However, any business with a good Accounting department will have a cost analysis done to figure out their cost segments before starting production, and will then price their product so the cost of something offered as free with the product is actually included in the purchase price you paid for the product.

i was among the lucky ones hitting the launch button yesterday at 9 AM getting itnto the game after 30 minutes and having a blast for 12 hours straight. BUT.. TODAY ,its literally IMPOSSIBLE to use the product i paid for. Theres no word of compensation to players, the pre order money was taken by Squeenix well aware that they wouldnt be able to provide an adequate or barely acceptable experience due to their server capacity and the fact that they do not DISABLE free user accounts (including thosuands of bots1!!) from congesting the queue, the "priority" system is clearly NOT working, also if it would work it is not the adequate measure in such a state of emergency. The adequate measure would be NOT allowing free accounts to login at all for the time being. "Semi Conductor" shortage has been going on for 2 years nearly, theres NO excuse for the lack of pre planning while at the same time OVER selling and over booking your servers with pre orders. I am furious right now that theres not even e mitigation process for being removed from the queue with a 2002 error and the launcher closing immedieatly. This is BAD CODING, lack of care and simply insultingly disrespectful to the paying customer.

So ask for a refund.

It's not about the money, Its the principle. Yoshi P is not to blame, their marketing division is. They promised more copies than they could give out and probably lied about the numbers to Yoshi P. Corporate greed is the real problem here.

As a bus driver, you don't sell 300 bus tickets when your bus can only sit 100 travelers for that trip.
As a restaurant employee, you don't take money for 200 meals when you only have enough food to make 100 meals

I could provide hundreds of these examples, clearly not needed though, and ...

As a game developer, you don't sell more expansion keys than your servers can host.

Simple really.

That being said, how do you think the community will react to this?

I have been trying to log in full stop and the only times I get to log in as at 2 am in the morning after trying for 5 hours each day! I'm sorry but they can source servers, they just don't want to pay the price for them atm. However they are prepared to take our money knowing that this was an issue and was going to happen, getting into a cue is an issue. Every time I get into a cue its sitting around the 8k mark. Worse is you think you are progressing only to get booted out and have to restart the cue. Saying they are sorry is not enough. They need to fix it. I am a new player to this game only just subbed a few days before the patch this is a joke right? I never had this issue with NW and they had far more people wanting to log in.
