I completely support your desire to vote with your wallet. That said, I'm going to agree a little with with Breakbeat and some others here. This is an MMO. We can and should expect that they may not be available sometimes. That's a chance we take when we pre-order for Early Access to something. And it's only 2 day of a major expansion launch. I'm frustrated as well that I can't get online. But I've been playing MMOs for over 20 years and these things are par for the course.

I'm also a software engineer and I know what it's like when users are breathing down your neck because their product isn't accessible. So I have definitely been there and I know you can't plan for everything. If this goes on, then yes, let's express our anger and frustration. But we don't know what possible plans they have in the works yet and haven't given them a chance to implement them.

That`s true. Lets give them some time. How many, exactly ? Where is community managers? Last seen updates about problem status - yesterday.

Release in 2 days? Early access? Do you really, honestly think, that this problem can be solved in 2 days but can`t be solved in 2 weeks? Even 2 month - based on Live Letter, when Yoshida-san said "sorry, too many new players - we know about queues and we trying to solve it" ?
I think - not. This mass of players doesn`t go anywhere. And - as result - this problem will exists.
They (BU5, SE and Yoshida himself) - was warned about this problem - and for some reasons didn't do anything. Hoping for what?

Alright I have to jump in here for I found too many good juicy things that people are looking at and saying was not the cause or wrong. so here goes:

semiconductor shortage has made buying new servers problematic for EVERYONE. I just recently got a new car and found out the dealers are barely holding their lots full, people are trading old vehicles in for new cars and for the FIRST time I saw USED vehicles in the SHOW ROOM! USED VEHICLES where new vehicles always are (this was not a used dealer). This issue is also affecting stores like best buy as well they have tv's and monitors, and barely any computers but want a new graphics card or cpu? not going to find much unless you're lucky! Saying that this shortage is 2 years old, the company should have known there would be an issue, 2 years ago or a bit longer back no one EXPECTED a full world wide pandemic to rage across the world killing thousands more than normal. tie these two together and companies are struggling to get what they need. FF14 did not blossom till a good bit later, and at that point though they wanted to get more, including making a new DC for the oceanic people became even harder because the needs they had were backordered ALREADY. then this year Texas gets hit hard in feb. with weather forcing several chip plants to SHUT DOWN, and then a fire in one plant in japan made it hard to keep chips going. this chip shortage will be looking to get some better in mid to late 2022, and probably clear up in late 2023 or early 2024! how is it that with orders that are waiting for chips are being filled as fast as possible can square make them go faster???

Now another thing, I will not tell anyone to stop their sub or vote with their wallet, but I will support them in that decision. That is only fair. Now to the nature of the EARLY ACCESS: Fine you aren't supposed to have access normally when you order something early till the actual date. Well what is it you are paying for? the expansion that is $40 us? or $60 us? Depending on which you got, now is that the normal price? YES! so on top of what you would NORMALLY get for paying that much you are granted a minion (minor) and an ear ring that lets you level faster (MAJOR) and also get 3-4 days of early access..... hey that's GREAT you paid nothing more for it. that means these are free and the first two was given just because you said you'd order it when they charged you!!!!! this was 24 hours of problems to log in. but really wasnt as I was able to log in easily around 10am eastern on friday then had 2000+ when I got back from errands around 3-4. then i still got in... later at night i was logging in to my stream character, and i kept getting booting so i had to cancel the stream and that could have been 100 bucks for me! but i wasn't mad I just did what I had to. I kept trying finally switching to a character on another world i got in and played for hours. I then got up today (sat) and at 12 my queue was about 100.

The servers are STABLE and not bouncing people except early on in extreme issues. You are crying over a 24 hour period that you had access to for FREE that cost you 50 cents or less USD! Again I am not saying that it is good, nor should it happen but the conflux of issues and people wanting to get everything they think were promised to be 100% available all the time. Vote with your wallet, but REALIZE that you may be doing it for the wrong reasons. do as you think but don't blame people and companies when things long before today were in short supply and think they can pull miracles and get equipment where there is probably none for them to get at this point.

Stop yelling at people that do not agree with your opinion and stop passing judgement without the FULL knowledge of what is going on! And not a single one of us knows the exact information here... The queues that you see are only what's ahead of you, not what is behind you. so you don't know how many have logged in now if you were seeing that you are X seat of Y people in line then you might understand, if that number Y exceeds a threshold the server acts for self preservation and dumps everyone in that queue. I agree you should be able to come back within a certain time and get your position. but that is not how it is for pc and I get that is frustrating. I will say while i've been playing the game play was stable so there is that, the content is there to be access but the number of people wanting to access at the same time is the problem.

At this point I'm convinced half the people reading my post aren't even reading and are just assuming I'm mounting an attack against SQuenix. If you think I'm yelling instead of critiquing then idk what to say.

I was not specifically speaking to you with that comment as it was a general comment about everyone that is just jumping on people no matter which side. it is all over the place in various threads. honestly with the exception of the queue issues the over all launch seems fairly good. When things die down it will just be a bump in the road. though people should realize that the 3 day early access is really a bonus and not a given. they paid no more for it and being upset about it is not the best
