Maybe catering to big streamers wasn't such a good idea

Game was fine without them

Then Yoshi decided he wanted "influencers" to build hype for the game., even going so far as to deny information to the players about major job changes in the new expansion unless they watched videos made by said influencers whom they gave exclusive access to this information. Influencers whom they paid.

They hyped the game as the next coming of jesus christ, and Endwalker as going to be even better than Jesus. A tidal wave of streamers and their countless followers flooded into the game. They had to delay it by 2 weeks because it was so bad because of said streamers.

Now look where we are. The game was never made to handle this kind of interest and you knew it. We didn't need these grifters to generate hype, and the type of people they attract into games is not the type of people you want in this community. They're people who will overwhelm a game just to play with their favorite streamer, making the game unplayable for everyone else, then as soon as the streamer has milked it dry and leaves will all quit to follow streamer-man to the next game. They just pump and dump games over and over.

Perhaps that money spent on paying off streamers could have been spent on making the actual game they're shilling playable. Make a good product and you don't need to pay people off to get them to build interest in said product.

its not about the new streamers, its about the wow debacle. There are millions of players who migrated to ff14 since WOW is currently such a trash game.

And they knew this was going to happen and yet they didnt rent crap for new servers.

Personally I think the answer is to enforce stricter afk avoidance in-game. I'd be willing to bet if they reduced the afk timer to 20 minutes instead of 30 there wouldn't be a queue of more than 10 minutes to get in.

No queue means no reason to try to stay online at all costs. Thus people who are in-game wouldn't feel almost OBLIGATED to try to stay online at all costs even if you're not really playing for an hour or more, simply because you want to be able to play later.

NA didn't really get much either. Japan has too many servers and they didn't and/or won't distribute them. They have 32 servers and 80% of them are near empty. Seriously jp is not having these problems.
