They'll actually have experience playing the game, and we'll get a valuable outside view. We've grown with this game, eased into it. The sort of opinions from players who experience the changes all at once is a good perspective for us to hear out.

Yeah, there's concern about trolling, but I think we could weed out the bitter posts for a week, and I personally think what we gain is well worth the risk.

I'd rather not. If you're not paying for it, you have no voice. Its like democracy. Non-citizens don't get to vote on shit, and there's a reason for that. Non-shareholders don't get an opinion on company matters, and there's a reason for that. Hearing opinions is great, and feedback is always good, but giving them a legitimate voice is a bit much. I agree they should have limited forum access to one area designated precisely for them. I don't want ppl with no vested interest in the game (read: aint paying shit) to try and dictate its direction. As they say, put up or shut up...in this case we're talking about money.

The more responses like this, the more I hope SE does this. It shows how calcified some of the views are here that people are this afraid SE might listen to feedback other than theirs.

SE could send emails to the Welcome Back players asking for feedback rather than let them wreak havoc on the forums...even if they were separate from the ones paying customers use.

But you see.. they might have valuable input that SE could use. Coming back to the game from being away for a while, they may have a whole different perspective than us. They could be helpful to SE!
It doesn't have to be an "us vs. them" issue.

I am for them having a section of the forums to themselves that we cannot post in, (If we could I feel they'd often be trolled. >.>), and I would be curious myself to see what they have to say.

There is no point in having seperate forums for them simply because we are all playing the same game. I don't get why people think that since they are paying their opinion counts for more. This promotion isn't about us its about them anyway their voice should be heard just as much as ours should. The people who decide to keep playing will be a part of the community anyway so what's the point in keeping them seperated? I just think its stupid to think "I've been playing since beta so I'm more entitled than you". And to the whole worry about the trolling and unnessecary arguments it happens anyway on any forum on the internet if you don't like it then don't read or respond to it that's just how the internet works I'm surprised people don't see that already.

I'm just saying if you want this game to succeed then the more players the better chance of that happening. If our views and opinions should be taken into consideration to help satisfy our playing expierence then so should the views and opinions of the people taking advantage of the campaign. In fact letting them have access to the forums would be the better solution because they can discuss their issues with people who have been playing this whole time. There is no reason the cut them off just because some people feel entitled. No matter what the devs do with the game there will always be someone who disagrees you can't make everyone happy.
