General MMORPG populace: "We dislike escort quests"

Square Enix: "Lets make every second quest an escort quest and have the NPCs glitch out at least 10 times before reaching the destination, not follow aetheryte transport and reset to the other side of the world if you run too far away from them!"

The only thing that makes running from A to B more dull is by limiting the ways of transport. I appreciate the extra bits of dialogue occasionally offered, but was this really the best way?

I'm not a fan of escort quests out in the world, but the Sharlayan introduction thing was enjoyable. I put it on walk, soaked up the sights, did some people watching, and had a relaxing stroll around the city I'll be zipping around ignoring everything in for the next two years. You only get one chance to experience things the first time.

Sorry but I actually really enjoyed being able to have a party walk around with me in the overworld. It's almost as if this is a Final Fantasy game first and foremost. You do not have to engage with the extra dialogue if you don't want to but I do hope they continue with this new system moving forward.

because once yoshi-p does something it just keeps going till you are sick of it, do you remember duty actions on raids? or dual bosses on final bosses for savage? or "shoot that random thing"?

I don't remember him going as hard on any of those as he has on this though

Okay you know how in ARR - Shadowbringers there are all those quests where the NPCs are like "Lets go to X together!" But they never actually go with you? They are just waiting for you at the destination? Well, Yoshi P said in Endwalker they would actually come with you to all those locations...Is this what they meant? Surely its not working right??

So the idea is they want you to get the dialogue options in between that are supposed to be optional but because it is designed this way you have to hit those triggers it seems.
