    Another question about the server congestion

    So I read FFXIV's, "Regarding Congestion During Endwalker’s Launch"
    [/URL] It states;

    "Although we were unable to add new Worlds, we have implemented every other measure that was possible..."

    Simple question, why were you unable to add new worlds?

    In October of this year it was reported that Final Fantasy XIV Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida revealed the player base of the game is approximately 24 million players. He also stated that FFXIV is the most profitable game in all of Final Fantasy.

    Seems to me they could have spent a bit of money on more servers and added more worlds.

    (Well I have had the time since it's now over an hour in the queue) Yes I am apparently a masochist.

    Where have you been this past year? There's a massive global semiconductor shortage (thanks largely in part to Covid, but also other things). Noone can get access to the chips necessary to make most high-end tech, including servers. Huge companies worldwide have had to halt or massively reduce production, including car manufacturers like Tesla, TV manufacturers, Sony & Microsoft (this is why it's so hard to get a PS5/Xbox Series X), Intel & Nvidia (getting a new graphics card or decent CPU is just as impossible). Yes, Square Enix is doing well for themselves this year, but literally every company, big and small, is struggling to get their hands on chips. They couldn't add new worlds because they couldn't buy new servers because -noone- can buy new servers.
