Really hoping this is covered by "Other various issues have also been addressed," because not even including it in Known Issues is just insulting.

Be sure to send your thank you notes to @EmbodyAudio on Twitter. I don't see any mention on the patch notes this round either. If I could be certain a new machine would fix this I would start saving up but since they won't even communicate with us on this besides telling us its "fixed" and then radio silence I don't feel particularly confident that is even going to solve the issue. I like the idea of a poll. Let me know if I can assist on that.
The thing with that is that if it were more than audio, if it was total lag, then we'd notice the lag in the gameplay as well. But as for me, I've just had my audio affected. Dunno if the two are mutually exclusive or not.
To anyone not familiar with this now incredibly bloated thread which will become even more bloated if the issue really isn't addressed in the patch, please refer to the links in this post. https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...=1#post5788370 (Elliah, PLEASE copy these links into a new thread so we have something easier to link our "sprouts" to - they might even see it before rushing here to post redundant info)
It's not a hardware issue, it's even appearing on consoles. It's an issue with the implementation of spatial audio in the new sound engine that seems to have a disproportionate effect on some hardware configurations but is present for everyone whether they experience the bug or not. Upgrading may fix the issue for some, for others it may make it worse, and there's basically no way to predict who will be affected that has yet been determined aside from FX-series cpus seeming to get the worst of it (though these are NOT the only cases). It is also NOT fixed by the trial or full version of Immerse Spatial Audio in all cases - DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON THIS CRAPWARE. This is entirely Square Enix's fault for rushing a shoddy implementation of support for Immerse Spatial Audio at the last minute and we're all paying for it.

What was even wrong with the old audio system that we needed this brand spanking new one? Who asked for this? What part of "don't fix what isn't broken" is so hard to understand?
It was free.
Also, at this point, I don't care if sound issues are fixed in upcoming patch or not.
I am cancelling subscription.
Changelog does not mention audio issues at all neither in fixed issues nor in known issues.
Forum tech support ghosts this thread harder than hardcore christian family ghosts their gay son.
Email tech support is utterly incompetent, up to the point where they are completely detached from statements of forum tech support and manage three typos in single email, while offering same solution twice.
Apparently sound issues don't exist for them.
Fun-fucking-tastic.

They're implying that you have to buy Immerse Spatial Audio to get sound to work, but it doesn't fix the stutter for everyone who tries it (or switches it from combat to cutscenes or some ridiculous BS like that) and most users report it drastically reducing overall sound quality anyway. Like all the "fixes" for this problem, it's not 100%, and I for one don't want to see Embody make a cent off the mess they helped make here.
