lets hope that tomorrows patch fixes sound!
lets hope that tomorrows patch fixes sound!
When Endwalker launched I changed the Equalizer mode to Standard and it fixed for the most part, some times the static would still happen but very rarely. Recently however, the static came back with full force even with the Equalizer on Standard, and nothing I do seems to fix it again.
Hopefully they'll fix it tomorrow!

I've managed to limp through the MSQ when my sound decided to behave. I got up to the 89 dungeon Saturday but held off doing it because my sound decided not to behave. Crossing my fingers they fix this with the patch!

6.01 Patch Notes came out and this is what it has for "Audio Issues" that were fixed
An issue when playing the opening movie for Endwalker wherein audio channels were switched, resulting in improper sound balance (PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®5 only).
An issue wherein selecting Logitech PRO-G 50mm under Sound Settings did not affect audio quality.
An issue wherein enabling Immerse Spatial Audio prevented sound effects from playing under certain conditions.
An issue wherein certain sounds do not play correctly under certain conditions.
* We expect sound issues created after the release of Patch 6.0 to be resolved via adjustments to the sound engine. Should you continue to experience sound-related issues, we recommend the following:
Open the Windows control panel, select your default audio device, and view properties. Then, under the Advanced tab, select a lower setting for the default format. (A lower bit rate and Hz range is less system intensive.)
Other minor text issues have also been addressed.
I'll have to give the settings adjustment a try if there's still popping.

before the maintenance i managed to fix my audio issue by simply changing the refresh rate (in my case changed it to 60fps), and i have no problem since... idk if it works for everyone but it works for me, and since it's MT rn let's just wait for the patch and see if they're fixing it
Yea i just read this. Lowering bitrate was one of the first things a lot of us did to troubleshoot and it didn't fix a thing so not expecting anything better tomorrow but we'll see....
As for this part, I think the translation was kinda misleading, it gave me the impression that SE was expecting us to adjust the "audio engine" via Windows settings. We expect sound issues created after the release of Patch 6.0 to be resolved via adjustments to the sound engine.
Taking in account the original Japanese text from the patch notes:
I think it better translates to:サウンドエンジンの調整により、パッチ6.0以降に発生していたサウンド関連の不具合が解消される見込みです。
Which means that, although they didn't properly mention the stuttering issue, they might be expecting it to have been solved. We expect that, from the adjustments (that were made) to the sound engine, sound issues that were occurring after the release of Patch 6.0 will be resolved.
Let us just hope it worked.

so servers came up early so i figured i would test stuff out, i can confirm the issue is still alive and prevalent at least on my end. at first it didn't seem as bad, i ran a FATE and it crackled here and there. then i did trial roulette and did the Moogle fight and boy was it awful. I either don't think they know about *this* specific audio issue, or simply put, the systems that are having this issue can't handle this new sound engine they put in and its time to upgrade. its sad but i don't see this getting fixed.

5 minutes after maintenance ends, I log back in under dx11 to go smack the dummy I test this on and the audio's still stuttering like crazy. So here's hoping for 6.05!
EDIT: I should mention I'm also on an FX CPU. A 6300. Every ounce of respect due to the engine devs but like, this is the only game I have this issue in and I refuse to accept it's all our computers not being up to the task.
