My ambient sound does still doing popping sound .
The only way to fix it for me is to mute the ambient sound... then the problem is gone.
So... not fixed for everyone.

I have a 5900x, NH-D15 as a cooler and my temps are between 50~60°C (thats 122 too 140℉).
I dont get low fps (90~180fps), just popping an crackling especially in ambient heavy zones like Falcon Nest.
I'm 100% sure it has nothing to do my temps...
Same issue here, patch didn't fix the problem for me and i've tried multiple things like changing the audio to "CD quality" / drivers, unplugging controller and disabling dual sense etc.
Using a Threadripper 3970X / RTX 3090..
Threadrippers are not for gaming, especially since they do core-core communication across a pcie fabric.
use an affinity locker to keep the game using only the threads on CCD1 (first 8 threads), be aware that there is known stuttering issues with the entire threadripper range in ffxiv.
the only crackling im hearing in falcons nest is the expected crackle of burning wood in the torches around the aetheryte.

I say this with all the respect in the world for you, but please bear in mind that just because you’re not dealing with an issue doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist with others. The team has already confirmed that this is an issue with how different people’s particular CPUs and PC builds interact with the sound engine and the game’s sound drivers. It’s very likely that your PC is one of the builds that were either compatible from the start or had the issue repaired in 6.08. However, this doesn’t mean that all PCs have had the issue fixed so far. Please don’t invalidate other people’s concerns based on your own experiences, as it can prevent people from realising that this is in fact an ongoing bug in the game and discourage them from filing official bug reports.
If you still have doubts about this, I should also note that my bug report about this persistent issue after 6.08 has been marked as Accepted, as well as two other similar bug reports. This is not someone’s PC overheating or someone’s settings being wrong. It’s a bug in the game that I’m sure will be addressed soon.
No disrespect taken, however I've got the tools at hand to have measurable data and reasoning for my stance at this point in time, also a wide array of machines to test with, both directly at hand and indirectly (remote access, etc).I say this with all the respect in the world for you, but please bear in mind that just because you’re not dealing with an issue doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist with others. The issue that was at the root of the lower end cpu's suffering audio issues has been rectified entirely, the game audio engine is no longer using cpu excessively to the point that quality and performance is affected, I have reached out to friends with 8700's and Zen 3 cpu's to test in the specified location and there is no issue, either audibly or indicated in Utilisation logging.
There are other possibilities that need to be investigated at the systemic level which might be causing excess CPU usage prior to the game even being run, which would have a knock on effect to causing issues on machines no matter how new or old they are.
Usually i would request a GPU View Trace, as well as DPC/ISR latency measuring with and without diagnostic startup configurations to identify if the issue is absent when only windows services are loaded.
I would avoid using HBAO+ on such a weak GPU, you need a 970 or 1060 6GB at the minimum to maintain 60fps at 1080p with all settings at max.Has anyone else noticed that FFXIV is really heavy on their GPU? My CPU is fine, however FFXIV seems to eat up 97-100% of my GPU and no other games (heavier ones) do this to my PC. This is all so weird, I have not had any issues until EW. After EW I did not have audio problems - some other minor performance issues. But since 6.08 it's gotten pretty bad with my audio.
I have an Intel i5-4460 and GeForce GTX 750 Ti - maybe not the most high end hardware but it has never had this problem before. I tried playing around with audio settings, turned off all unnecessary things, hell, even turned all graphic settings all the way down. Nothing helps, this is isolated to audio alone. I'm very curious what the hell this patch did.

Yay no more stuttering for me. The last patch fixed it, I am on a AMD FX 6300. My thanks to the development team for the fix.
i know i got low fps but it usually dont affect in game bgm or voices, the 08 patch quite lessen the issue but i in trial when the boss talking, they talk really slow as it my fps contributing to it, and i surely know its isn't an issue before shb, i don't expect sooner fix i just want them to acknowledge them for 6.1 perhaps
you have settings available to reduce to improve the framerate, make use of them, if you can't find a point where you can maintain 60fps in raids and trials your system is truly below the supportable requirements.i know i got low fps but it usually dont affect in game bgm or voices, the 08 patch quite lessen the issue but i in trial when the boss talking, they talk really slow as it my fps contributing to it, and i surely know its isn't an issue before shb, i don't expect sooner fix i just want them to acknowledge them for 6.1 perhaps
