See, adding an extra data center, even if they're not adding servers, means spreading that login queue out over an extra data center. Effectively, they increased the login queue by 50%.

In the last lucky bancho census NA has about 800k active non free trial characters compared with JP's 400k and EU's 300k give or take. I would hazard a guess that some expansion was involved
