Dunno if that would have worked, for general questing ? For sure. But dungeons are a totally different story, I'm form Europe and played on a NA server for a really long time and that 300ms+ is terrible for playing, and when I say terrible, I mean really really terrible, that nearly half a second is massively noticeable.
But when I logged in, though there was lag and some sound issues, I was still able to quest, that's a massive improvement compared to SB launch, Rauhban (Savage) was brutal.
I swear none of the people who make these threads can read. They did anticipate it and they did all they COULD do to mitigate it as they CANNOT buy new servers no matter how much they try atm due to shortages. It sucks but we have to deal with it.
That's not how it works. Generally games this massive are hosted within massive server farms in data centers all over the world. The actual hardware all work together in tandem to host the software and service the customers. EU servers are physically located in the EU, Japan somewhere in Southeast Asia (usually either Japan or South Korea,) Oceania in Australia. You can't just "reallocate" servers from a completely different location to serve an entirely different customer base. You'd have pretty extreme latency issues doing that.
