SCH is in a good spot so you don't need to feel bad for it at all.I am not at max level but as i feel it for now: Its better than it was in SHB.
Astrodine is okay. It needs slight tweak here and there but otherwise im fine with it.
Minor Arcana... I dont feel the need to use it at all as for now. Might change on higher levels but dont think it will.
Undraw is completely unnecesarry.
Still miss Stormblood AST though. Best AST there was by far.
As compared to other healers... I feel bad for WHM and SCH because of what AST and SGE bring on the table compared to them. AST is just better WHM overall.

Healing good, cards bad (if you care about your own damage).
I thought they wanted the game to be controller friendly? Too many buttons is NOT.

Overall feeling ok with Lv 90 AST.
Biggest request is that I'd rather see the 2 seal Astrodyne buff give a Lightspeed effect of reducing cast times so I can do more double weaves cause there is a lot to press now.
More ambitiously, just gut Astrodyne and have Draw restore more MP and increase DPS action potencies.
Fine with Minor Arcana, would prefer to have it be a single button but it is nice seeing the cooldown timer.
Fine with Redraw. Astrodyne isn't too important to optimize so just give the card to the correct target and press Astrodyne when full.
Earthly Star size is hilarious. Love it but do miss thinking about placement.
Only complaints (so far) leveling AST is still the existence of unnecessary card buttons like Undraw, Play, and Crown Play. I don't keep Undraw on my hotbar, and Play and Crown Play seem redundant considering they could just make Draw and Minor Arcana change into the Cards like they used to.

After playing with AST at 90, my personal thoughts:
+Macrocosmos
+expanded Earthly Star radius
+Neutral Sect
+OGCD flexibility (ES, CU, Exaltation, CI, CO, ED, Lightspeed…good God…)
+Ability Effects and overall job aesthetics
- Button bloat, particularly the card system
- diminished card relevance (most dumbed down system we’ve had yet)
- DPS feels a bit weak, even with cards, Astrodyne, and Macrocosmos.
= Minor Arcana is fantastic when you get what you need, but painful when you don’t.
= Astrodyne is shiny and cute to play with, but doesn’t really offer anything significant.
= Synastry is a nice tool, though I often just force myself to use it rather than actually needing it given our overall kit.
I’d grade AST a solid B+, Scholar and Sage A-, and White Mage a B. Just my thoughts.




Brought in all healers but SGE up to EW EX trials so far.
• Earthly Star radius is silly but positive nonetheless. I dared people who manages to miss it by offering them free 10m gil—if they can miss it without dying or jumping off platforms lol.
• Being able to weave something after Asp. helios and Benefic II (?) feels nice, now if only WHM gets the same treatment.
• Exaltation is such a fantastic tool to play with. I abuse this button as much as I can (same with other healers’ lv86 button too). I wish we learned this way before EW level range, possibly within HW level range.
• I like being able to bank the cards by holding onto Draw charges without feeling bad from not keeping it cooldown 100% of time.
• Astrodyne feels like dev’s answer to healers who demands more busy gameplay but without actually rewarding them reasonably meaningful. From all 3 potential buffs that can be attained, the 3rd buff turns out to be the weakest of all 3. I like the concept but perhaps it could’ve been better. Haste buff also makes me and my not so-good ping clips ever so slightly from trying to weave something after each Malefix & Gravity II.
• Divination no longer locked behind seals? Fantastic. Losing seals from dying and throwing off Divination off party’s raidwide buff windows feels really terrible. Glad I never have to worry about this anymore.
• Essential Dignity ‘nerf’ feels a bit jarring in dungeon wall pulls, but they are nonetheless still strong & gets covered by their other tool.
• Two charges on Intersection feels so good.
• Lord/Lady are hit or miss. I’ve had a few 2nd EX runs where I’m getting Lady 4 or more times in a row—while that’s not entirely bad, between that, my few other oGCDs and my co-healer’s efforts, this leaves some other remaining oGCDs in my arsenal unused entirely. Other times I’m not getting any Ladies at all and it felt really good. I still feel this ability should be consolidated into 1 button instead of two separate.
• Macrocosmos is divine. Please don’t touch them in future
Overall? It feels -really busy- but with noticeably diminishing return in benefit.

I cringe every time AST is in group cuz the Majority of them that I’ve played with enjoy 52 card pick up all dungeon. Too focused on playin their card mini game.
So far in EX on single target it turns out that MA + Astrodyne is roughly 5% of your total rdps output on average. This is less than just Earthy Star popping on cooldown and significantly less than Divination. So you could take Astrodyne, Redraw, Minor Arcana and Crown Play off your bar entirely and only lose 5% output.
They're useless fluff that gives you a lot of extra work for almost no reward and keeping some of your mana regen hostage.
