    The caster role already had an easy to execute job in Red Mage. Now with the recent black mage changes, we have three simple casters and one medium difficulty caster (Picto). You want something complex? You don’t get it here.

    Well, you said that's why people won't play it. But tons of people said people will play it because it's simple.

    Regardless of who is correct it's hilarious to see how deftly the community do a complete 180.

    I think a big problem is the class fantasy is worse now. People thought big summons made a real summoner but I think slowly the playerbase is realizing flash isn't it.

    Old summoner had a build up. You couldn't just instantly call Bahamut out. You didn't start with the most powerful Bahamut. You didn't die and then Bahamut was 1 button push away.
    You had to set it up. And that was good and how a summon should be and feel like.

    Does big summon look better than an egi? Yes. Is it more fun? no it is just ruin spam. You hit your button over and over why is that different than spamming ruin 2? Because the button is either green or yellow now?
    Are you that easy to fool?

    ARR through to ST summoner you could have your egis tank. In SHB when they became invincible, they still felt like they were still contributing and battling along side you while you were managing DoTs and eventually getting bahamut and phoenix out. If I remember right, when they did the switch, there was still an issue with the Job quests for SMN where you had to fight a dark ifrit egi, and that also recommended you having titan egi out to tank.

    Creative Studio 3 had the main 3's one and done attacks ready to go because the animations were already in another piece of content in Heaven on High when you used one of their magicites. By logic and theory, since there's also an Odin magicite, SMN should've have an Odin summon thrown in there too right? No instead what we got was another bahamut. Creativity was instead shoved at picto. Picto showed that healers could still have different damage abilities but it still being a 1 button rotation. Picto showed with subtractive pallet that you could create an alternating set of summons. Even then with alternating, they could've made so that you still felt like you were building up to a bigger and better summon.
