The crashes seem to happen only in the new areas. it might be because the amount of players but the fact that I can't log in after 10 repeated attempts really disheartens me. I want to play this game.
I'm having same issue but I don't use any headset and only have one audio system, realtek(r) audio.
The indepndent apps don't show for me.
I just can't play.
Have you tried logging in with another character ? I know this sounds weird but after a week spent dealing with this issue ( still not solved) I noticed that my game crashes only when I log with my main
The game crashes right after I click the green Play button on launcher, I can't select DC, server or character, just a black screen with one or three error messages about dx11 and game crashes.
The fix where you make sure audio output is set to game does not work for me. My headset worked on my old crappy computer with endwalker, but the minute I tried to use it on my new computer it immediately crashes the game, or the audio is terrible and THEN crashes. None of the fixes are working, I ended up getting a crappier headset that does not have advanced sound settings (split audio control) and that works fine of course.
I have been encountering this problem 4times in a week and I've tried every method I can find on google , updates all the drivers , set TdrDdiDelay TdrDelay TdrLevel to 0 , use MSI afterburner , rollback geforce game ready driver , install the game into different drives (HDD/SDD) etc...... and all of these didn't work.
Only uninstalling and reinstalling FF14 again and again works....for a while. I've already reinstalled this game 4times in a week and each time it takes me 10 hours to do so , I am so frustrated and this error only happens on FF14 make it feels even worse for me.
I really hope the headset thing was the problem but it wasn't for me...I tried to set the default to "GAME" , doesn't work. Then I uninstall the steelseriesGG driver , no it's not the driver. Unplug and replug , no it doesn't work.... I am so tired...
However my DX11 error is a bit different that it's not a completely random crash , although the crash happens randomly , for example at a certain point during the main quest the game crashes then whenever I redo the quest and I get to the same point of the main quest the game will crash again. In other words , once the random crash happens it will only happen again at the same point.
Can someone from SE actually send some help to all the victims or at least admit that the problem is a FF14-side problem. I am pretty sure the error thing happens after the endwalker update....
Same issue directx crash
I have tried literally every fix I've found in any of these threads or posts on the internet about these crashes.
Nothing works. Nothing fixes it. For the love of the big one, please find the cause of these crashes and patch it out! What was a minor inconvenience before is now a gosh darned tragedy if you get a directx crash during primetime gameplay.
And if you can't fix the darn crashes, please reserve someone's spot on the world server for a couple minutes, at least...
So I'm not getting the crashing errors, but I am getting the garbage sound quality. I don't even USE a headset so I know the problem is not that. I switched to DX9 and the issue is -mostly- resolved. There's still some poor sound, and the other issues with DX9 are now present, but on the whole the sound is better.
I'd really prefer to use DX11 because its less unstable, but the sound is so bad I can't help but wonder if this is on SE's end.
