"ID or password is incorrect" on launcher, despite same credentials working for web

Hi,

I was able to login and play right after EW maintenance finished, but when my internet connection had a small hiccup (happens occasionally, normally no big deal) I got disconnected and the launcher kept giving me an error message "ID or password is incorrect". Shortly thereafter I received a (legitimate) email informing me of login restriction due to unusual access. I changed my password, made sure the new password works for loging into my SE account, the forum and now the mog station (which had logins disabled because of the maintenance for a while), and then tried to launch the game again - which keeps giving me the same error. I am 100% sure I'm entering my credentials correctly.

I'm watching a twitch stream with >1k viewers, many of which are talking about the login queues, but nobody seems to have their credentials refused by the login servers.

Any suggestions?

i got the same problem apparently, i don't know if they disabled some people to login or not but this is rather annoying

I have the same issue, can login to the Mogstation and the Lodestone, but can't login to the launcher. Even though I was to do it yesterday and the day before.

If you use anything like Exitlag, turn it off then log in. Fixed it for me. Or any kind of VPN

Friend of mine had the same problem, disabling the VPN worked, thanks a lot!

Thanks, that worked for me too. Unfortunate, since my FC is on Aether and I play from Germany. Exitlag is what keeps my connection playable across the Atlantic and the USA.

I've been using no-ping personally and had no issues with it.
