I personally didn't have an issue with clearing the Quest from the amount of players due to learning the above previously, but one real issue I have is with NPCs disappearing due to player density. It's sort of hard to explain, but you have to sort of walk back and forth and shift your camera all over to get NPCs to appear. You could be right on top of NPCs and still not have them be visible as well, assuming the Player Density is high enough, which in this case it is.
They are clearly able to make a fix to that, IMO, due to Quest NPCs being persistent. I just don't know the specifics of how they go about doing so engine wise.
I still think there's merit due to my above 'Pros';
- Increased FPS (Reduced Visual 'Lag')
- Can actually see the character I'm interacting with
- Can extend to PvM if NPCs are prioritized (no more disappearing Hunts!)
- Can assist with Gold Saucer - Leap of Faith Events when it gets particularly crowded.
