2 hours waiting an then 2002 error and starting queue again. Why?!!!!

To an extent, even a ridiculously long queue time cannot be prepared for. If it takes hours to move through a queue of 3000 people, that is all the time some people even have. Throw a mildly unstable internet connection into the mix, and that's it. You don't get to play. I would prefer to believe something could be done. I don't want to see people miss out on stuff like this, times are hard enough. Even for the people who are logged in. "I want to take a small break but I don't want to log out" isn't something I want to see people saying, but I am seeing it.Precisely. If the only problem was massive queues that folk have to wait in to get ingame, that is something that is to be expected. The real problem is that folk might wait in a queue, but actually see the number of people ahead of them go up, or, alternatively, spend an hour or two slowly moving up the queue, just to get booted out with an error message, then be put back at the end of the queue when they log back in.

Part of the issue with ques is not only the number of people "Trying" to log in, but also people trying to visit other servers, which "Should" have been disabled for Early Access, but SE didn't think of that so servers that are normally not congested are being hit with people that aren't even from those servers.

At least Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't have to worry about being the worst videogame launch anymore.
I'm glad Yoshi-P delayed the launch by two weeks to improve the quality. Much improved. Such quality.
Neither heavensward nor stormblood had these issues. Hell, for that matter, Burning Crusade didn't either. So to anyone saying this is par for the course. It isn't.

Even in favor of giving the anecdotes the benefit of the doubt, I would prefer that they were considered learning experiences by the people who need to feel that way; rather than seeing this nonsense as "good enough."At least Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't have to worry about being the worst videogame launch anymore.

I'm sure the quality of the game itself is great, I haven't gotten to experience it yet because I've been running around collecting the classes and doing a few other things; waiting for my girlfriend to get in so we can level and play together. I imagine more than anything else, this is a hardware problem. A failure on someone whosoever is directly in charge of making the decisions that procuring the necessary hardware to prevent this situation "wasn't worth it", whether it was by paying a premium for it or renting it. In those cases, it is not my decision to make, and I understand that; but also in those cases, it is my criticism to give, and it's valid. I respect the people who created the game but not the people who decided it was okay to force us all to deal with this and turn the player base on each other for not wanting to log out for a 20-30 minute break in order to deal with hour(s) long queues.

yeah, i'll give him the wrap. but foist, i gotta wrap this FISH.

whats the quick launcher?

Yeah big queues are expected and anyone who wasn't expecting them was a fool. However I will agree the 2002 errors aren't really acceptable. Especially because it can be hours of queue time where you need to methodically baby sit the game to try to beat the grace period to log back in should you get the error and in some cases that doesn't even work. I got home around 3pm and Balmung had a 3200 queue. Fine. I'll feed the cats, make dinner etc while I wait. But at 1600 (and 40-50 mins later) or so I noticed a 2002 just by chance as I passed and quickly logged back in. In this case the placeholder system worked and I was back in around the same spot I was at. Then at 800, another 2002. Only this time when I tried to log back in I started getting it when I hit 'start' and so far I've been unable to even make it to the character screen again even after waiting a bit. So...that's frustrating. There are expected and unexpected problems that come with a popular game in a big expansion launch and we have a bit of both here.

Final Fantasy has been around long enough and made enough money to not have these problems. They should be able to support sooooooo many more players w/o disconnecting people and limiting logins. I havent played since FFXI and I'm so disappointed in this prelaunch. WoW never has these problems any more!
