I was 12 in Queue. 12. Got 2002 error and now back to 1600 in line. I get it...it's launch/early access weekend. It's still infuriating though.

Before the 89 now, I was once at position 1. Yes, ONE.
The queue isn't the problem. I'd gladly wait hours to get in. The problem is the 2002 error, which has nothing to do with the queue.

What is 2002 again? I know they are different codes but I can't remember off the top of my head what 2002 is.

I think it's an error due to server congestion
"FFXIV’s Error 2002 message pops up if the game’s login server is is dealing with high amounts of players or the player amount in a single login queue for a specific data sails past 17,000 players. You’ll likely come across error code when you’re selecting a character before attempting to log in to Final Fantasy XIV for Endwalker.
Square Enix explains that the measure prevents the server from crashing due to “extreme traffic overloads”, though If you encounter the error the developer suggests you wait a few minutes before trying to log in again. Thankfully, the wait shouldn’t be too hard. Following a surge of popularity earlier this year, Square Enix increased capacity for simultaneous logins and a 30-minute AFK timer to ease server congestion, so players should be coming and going quicker than before."
