Well finished it. A very fulfilling ending.
Venat's scene in Amaurot with Answers playing was my favorite part of the expansion. So good.
Getting my only real disappointment out of the way because I don't like dwelling on the negative: the lack of Shadowbringers characters. I know most are stuck on another world but Azem's crystal could have summoned Ryne in the climax, and I wish Ardbert had even gotten just one cutscene talking to us in our mindscape.
I wasn't as emotionally invested in Meteion as a villain as I was Emet-Selch or Elidibus, nor Ultima Thule as a final area as much as Amaurot, but I did really like how the conflict she instigated embodied the themes of forging hope despite hardships and such that the game has pretty much always been about since at least ARR. In that sense she was similar to Necron from FF9 in the way both of them embody an abstract concept that is the main theme of the game that the other villains have fought futilely against and the heroes persevere despite the odds, though she at least was set up quite a while before literally the final boss with her like Necron was.
Also THANK GOD the cause of the Final Days wasn't some ancient alien in the core of the planet like tons of people were suggesting the last two years. I always hated that suggestion and would have hated if it was what they went with. For a chunk of Elpis I was dreading that the Meteions were going to accidentally like, call in an alien invasion from Jenova expies or something.
On the other end of Endwalker vs Shadowbringers, I feel like Endwalker didn't have ShB's lows either. Il Mheg and the talos/miners part of Amh Araeng absolutely dragged, but in Endwalker there was never a low point where I just wanted the part of the story I was in to move on already. I was on a high from beginning to end.
I wish Garlemald had gotten more time in the spotlight than it did, though I liked what there was and I imagine it will have more screentime in the patches as we deal with the aftermath and what to do with the Garleans going forward.
Even as someone who absolutely hates Zenos and always has, that final fight with him was extremely hype, especially playing a reaper just like him.
Corvos getting mentioned constantly during the MSQ means it is absolutely going to be part of some questline somewhere. Trials or relic weapons or something.
Endwalker was a great ending for the story and I'm eager to start our next chapter.

As an aside, it's really odd that Tataru's airship from 5.4 never showed up. From the way she spoke about it it seemed for sure like that was being set up as the Scions' base for EW, and her new outfit even kind of looks like an airship pilot.
I remember that he talks about our souls. But honestly that would be quite funny when you play a Lala or a Hrothgar.Actually this isn't the case.
When first meeting Emet-Selch and Hythlodaeus on arrival to Elpis, Emet explicitly mentions that we look like Azem when saying he doesn't want to deal with us. Another NPC 'Pompous creator' also mistakes us for Azem when you speak to him, I actually screenshotted this bit so I can quote: "Azem?! What in the blazes are you doing here?! Hold on - you seem...thinner somehow." So I think we look like Azem facially, just with added extras like horns/cat ears like we're cosplaying or something I guess lol.
Exactly thats my view on this too.
About Fandaniel (late game spoilers!)
Honestly thats what annoyed me a bit about Hermes. Yes unlike the Ancients the life they create does not have the chance to die when they want to but that is something he should know by now. Yet he still helps creating that life anyways. On top of that he really is not that better than the rest...he creates a "race" who is bascially forced to take in the emotions of the people around him. We can see it with our poor girl how much she suffers as soon as he feels negative emotions. Once she even said that she cant breath. Yet he still sent her sisters out. Did it really never occurs to him that the negative emotions on other planets could be too much? That the unknown universe could be really dangerous? Yet he risks their lifes and wellbeing just like the other Ancients did.
And when he learns the truth from us, learns what will happen, sees how his creation suffers he still sents her out into the universe, he choose her over everything else including all the creation that he and the former Fandaniel created. All of that dies in the Final days too.
He probably has one of the highest body count in this story, simply because of his creation, including his own people that surely had more that felt similiar to him.
On Emet and friend...
Emet and Hythlodaeus Ever the charmers, they literally brought flowers to bring a girl to her knees!
Also Emet looks like Ansem of KH whiich is funnier since a lot of first impressions of the Ascians were that they were KH rejects when this game first started (2.0 for many people)
I suppose with the distances involved, the fuel issues mentioned as the reason for establishingwould have entered into the equation.Seiryu's Wall in the Burn
I'm almost at the end but there's this one quest I'm so frustrated with.
Sage Council is one of the worst quest in recent memory. I know alot of unnecessary quests that are part of MSQ but this one easily takes it. Not only do you have to look for 8 people aimlessly in a huge area, but ALOT of the NPCs that are marked are not the ones you should be looking for. Easily wasted 15 minutes on this quest. And this is after coming back from Elpis and finally finding a solution to get to the source of the Final Days. I just want to go and talk to Hydaelyn dammit!!
Oh, I see! My bad, I wasn't aware of this.
(Although I still would have loved some kind of convenient "recap" of the CT events because they did the same with the important ShB plotpoints, with characters nicely summarising everything in a conversation. It wouldn't even have to be a cutscene. If it were just said book in the sunstone that someone forgot on the table and that retells the most important CT points that would have been great, haha.)
Anyone have an idea of just how many hours of playtime the MSQ is now?
